Amen to the squirrelly thing. As a fan, I want to know who played where? Did players debut in a different position. FSU specific, did we stay in the 4-3-3? Who replaced Berkely in CB? Which player has taken a step forward?
Every game counts for the players, especially given what they are going through to play. Parents are going to as many of these games as they can. I can assure you they count for them. Players got drafted and have come back and played in these games. Some have gotten hurt. They certainly counted for them. So who dont these games count for ?
FSU lost to Orlando 2-1. Alex Morgan's goal was off a header on a Marta corner kick in the 37th minute. Marta scored for the Pride in the 40th minute. FSU's goal came in the 86th minute. Looks like the Pride played their full team. Here are their starters: Ashlyn Harris Gunny Jónsdóttir Ali Krieger Sydney Leroux Marta Phoebe McClernon Jade Moore Alex Morgan Courtney Petersen Ali Riley Marisa Viggiano
Who scored for us? And more importantly who played in MB's center back role? Any and all other details would be much appreciated.
Jenna Nighswonger goal with Ran Iwai assist. Gianna Mitchell was in there for most of the game I believe.
The Pride played all of their starters for the full 90 (sorry for all of the posts, I'm getting info in a disjointed fashion.).
I'm going to try to get some B roll for you guys but there was a clear handball in the box against the Pride that the ref missed. This game could have easily been a 2-2 tie. Also, I think that Mitchell may have been a late sub.
Some more b-roll provided by the club from today’s Orlando Pride preseason match against FSU 👇🏻The entire starting lineup played a full 90-minute shift — a first for every player except for Alex Morgan, who previously played the full preseason match against KC. pic.twitter.com/P2qlo4mBqn— Julia Poe (@byjuliapoe) March 14, 2021
At about the 1:40 mark of the clip I saw #8 in what looked like the CB, but while I know it was her, I can't be sure she was playing CB, but think it was likely.
Yeah. I saw that too. You could be right but it's hard to know for sure about formations from just looking at such a small sample of the game.
Just got finished talking with some people over at FSU. I was trying to get some video of the game against the Pride. I was shut down immediately. Basically I was told that Mark doesn't want anything getting out because of scouting purposes. I expect that this will be the policy for the whole spring season until the tournament. Pretty disappointing. I was really hoping to see that game against the Pride.
Three years ago on the official UVa site, for the men, the official highlights for PKs only showed the players run up. Then the highlight cut out, presumably because Va didn't want to release which way the pk taker went. Just a fear of giving anything away.
I get it Val. Many coaches want as little film as possible out there on their team. I'm just anxious for some highlights and real games.
Anybody have any news from the Louisville FC scrimmages? Louisville preview here: https://www.racingloufc.com/news_article/show/1153498
Go to the FSU soccer facebook page and there is a 54 second video of chopped up clips from that game (I believe). Mark does not let info out easily. Anyone else know anything?https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=3800174930059708
I saw further evidence in the clips above that Lauren Flynn is in MB's CB. Still not 100% conclusive, but it looks likely.
A poster on the FSU soccer Facebook page mentioned we played the Louisville NWSL team to a 1-1 tie, but don't know if that was the Wednesday or Sunday match. Between playing the Louisville NWSL team and the Orlando Pride twice each, we should be match ready come tournament time.
We play the Pride today at Orlando, but I haven't been able to get any info. If I knew the time and if I knew fans were allowed, I'd trek over. Absent that info, I'll wait and see if any info leaks out. Anyone have any further info.
