All I can say is I trust Mark.
BTW, I checked all the BC fall box scores and it appears she never played.
Does that mean she is eligible for playing with FSU in the NCAA tourney this year?

Just watched USWNT beat Canada 1-0.
Canada had 2 really easy opportunities they missed and a missed hand ball on the US in the box should have given them PK.
Gabby Carle came into the game at about the 60 min mark and played well.
    She was aggressive and smart.
She got beat once by Dunn going end line.
    Howell did not play.
Casey Short Krueger came in and played well.

USA vs Argentina. Casey Short Krueger started at outside back where Dunn normally starts. She looked very good.
IMO she deserves to make the Olympic Team. We'll see.

FSU is playing four Spring games against NWSL teams: two against the new Louisville team and two against Orlando.

Should get all NWSL teams involved playing against top nearby D1 teams. Get some college fans interested in watching.

Another benefit is college players able to stand out against the pros.

Just checked Orlando Pride's spring preseason schedule.
They are at FSU March 13 and FSU is at Orlando April 3rd.

    Tom,

Am I correct that those games will be played with no audience?

Both of the nwsl teams’ websites say they’ll be closed games.

Virginia keeps trying to schedule the Courage to a game and it keeps not happening. Virginia announced their spring slate on the 11th and it had a game in Cary against the Courage for March 27th. Sometime in the past 3 days that game has been dropped. They had an exhibition two years ago as part of the out-of-conference slate and it was dropped and then this fall had a game with them dropped.

Virginia might be better off trying the Spirit.

Hopefully they can still stream it.

    I don't know!
I wouldn't be surprised to hear that MK requested no fans. He is very reluctant to give out information that may be used for scouting purposes.
I was planning to go to the UF exhibition next Saturday, but a family function is going to prevent that. Of course, I haven't verified whether or not they will allow fans.
I still haven't heard whether or not the transfer from BC is immediately eligible since she did not play in the fall (as best as I can tell.)

Anyone on her planning to go to Hogtown for the March 6th scrimmage/exhibition?
I was planning on going, but a family event will prevent that.
I would dearly love some in-person intel on the team w/o MB.
Also, does anyone here know if the scrimmage against the Orlando Pride on 3/13 in Tally will allow fans?
I would seriously make that trip if I knew it was open to the public.

I was able to get an update on the spring schedule.

It seems that FSU will not actually publish a schedule for the spring (until the NCAA Tournament of course) because they are treating all of these games as scrimmages/exhibitions.

Therefore, the only way to find out about the games would be from the opponent announcing it like the NWSL teams and UF have done.

Regarding fans attending games, if you find out about a scrimmage/exhibition and show up (or you happen to be wandering by when they are playing) you will probably be allowed to watch.

TallyT, We have a March 13th scrimmage with the Pride. Any idea what time?
I'd like to be happening by at that time.

I'll see what I can find out. No promises though. They are being rather secretive about the spring games for some reason.

Are there players from the Fall who no longer are with the team? If so, and if they are key players, that would seem like the reason to me.

The only one is Malia Berkely our AA CB who signed with a French Pro team.

That would not be enough to explain his keeping things under wraps.

I dunno. It's the nature of a coach to be squirrelly. I've got regular contact with Steve Swanson at Virginia and even though he knows I won't write about injuries he wants to keep under wraps, it's still like pulling teeth to get him to tell me about player status.

Games that are being played that don't count for anything? Who's going to want to report on those?
