http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news;_y...aA--?slug=reu-flamengo&prov=reuters&type=lgns So very nasty scenes at the airport yesterday. I wonder how this can damage Julio César's chances with the seleção, who now fights for the top goalie spot with Dida.
Stupid fans. As if that kind of behaviour could accomplish anything, other than making matters even worse. Or at least choose the right target, say, the club directors since 1995. Oh well, if we do not defeat Botafogo next weekend, we will be pretty much relegated.
Are the SP players in white? On a side note, my friend is in Rio doing Jujitsu, and is in town for Thanksgiving, he brought me back a Flamengo jersey. My question, what do all the stars represent, how many titles have they won, it's got 1 big yellow star and 3 small white ones. Thanks.
SP players? You mean flamengo players? Im not a flamengo supporter (far from that, Im cheering for them to be relegated) but for what I know they won 5 national championships, 2 libertadores and 1 intercontinental. Some flamengo supporter correct me if Im wrong, but I believe the big yellow star is for the Intercontinental Cup and the 3 white ones are for the three times flamengo won 3 consecutive years the Rio de Janeiro Championship. (3 vezes tri-campeão)
In fact, there're two new shirts after that one. 1. The yellow star is for the IC in Tokyo. The four white stars were for the four times flamengo won 4 tri-campeonatos. 2. The new shirt has only one yellow star. It must be a Nike thing, a bad luck thing by the way.
Yes, the players r the guys in white. From foreground to background(botton pic): .Zinho (poor fella, lifted the trophy last season with Cruzeiro and now is about to be relegated) .Douglas Silva (terrible player, with guys like him we are bound for the 3rd division) .Julio Cesar (the Golie, a decent one at that, Dida's substitute in the NT, going through a slump period as of lately though)
