you had one job and that was to keep the a’s in oakland. you PROMISED us that. now you’ve done the exact opposite. you’ve taken the team so many of us grew up loving away.you’re an utter disgrace and a failure @DaveKaval https://t.co/OhnQ6jRxpB— stay in oakland (@oaklandfan312) April 20, 2023 Years ago, as an intern for the SF Business Times, I attended an event where @DaveKaval spoke about his “vision” for a new Oakland ballpark. Yet it also seemed clear he wasn’t truly invested in Oakland. What a farce. https://t.co/2N5UM36Npm— Emily Hoeven (@emily_hoeven) April 20, 2023
It has not been a great last 20 days for Oakland A's fans... after today's 12-2 loss the A's are now 3W - 16L (.158) with a -86 run differential (65 - 151)
David “Parallel Paths” Kaval. Play ball!! I wonder if the goal this year is to be so bad that Oakland doesn’t mind them leaving so much. Kinda smooth over the bad PR from leaving by virtue of planned incompetence.
Athletics sign binding agreement to buy land for future stadium in Las Vegas Kaval noted that the current CBA calls for the team to lose its revenue sharing next year if it doesn’t have a resolution to the stadium. “That’s what really precipitated us having to move because we were running out of time,” Kaval said.

"Don't piss on my boots and then tell me it's raining....." Kaval.....what a piece of work. He has no issue what so ever looking someone in the eye, blatantly lying to them and not have an ounce of remorse. Owners use to be fans of the game, now it's just a bunch of venture capitalist..... My enjoyment of pro sports wanes dramatically each passing day...... Shouldn't of stopped by this thread, just makes me angry each time.....
A's have made an offer to purchase land in Las Vegas intended for a stadium. The "move" is not official, but you don't start putting money down on property unless you're pretty sure you're moving.
So, what I want to know if what this means for the Quakes? Will Fisher sell the club or will he be given a Columbus Crew -Austin Anthony Precourt deal where he sells the Quakes and MLS grants him an expansion team in Vegas?
This article says it's official. https://www.ktnv.com/sports/oakland-as-to-open-stadium-near-allegiant-stadium-becoming-las-vegas-as Sad day for the Bay Area. If it wasn't for the Giants we could be going to an A's game in downtown SJ this afternoon. Giants win the real Battle of the Bay!
Why would MLS "grant" him an expansion team in Las Vegas when they can sell the spot for several hundred million dollars? For that matter, why would MLS do anything for Fisher at this point?
Why did MLS grant Anthony Precourt the Austin -expansion Crew sale deal? At that point when he wanted to move the club in 2012 , the Crew had a fairly new stadium in place and it was only 13 years old. Therefore, what makes Precourt better or worse than Fisher and why exactly was he given that option?
I call BS on the A's statement. If you worked so massively hard on the stadium project and you had the support of city, county, and state leaders, what was the problem then? The no-stadium gremlin? The rally possum? If the project is not "making progress", then why is that? I think they just decided, via their "parallel paths", that they'd rather move to Vegas. As David "Parallel Paths" Kaval said, "Go Golden Knights"! Going to be a rough few years as they build the stadium and DKav is not going to be a real popular figure around town.
Who gives a shit? The Quakes have a stadium, they are not going anywhere. Why would cheapskate Fisher spend hundreds of millions of dollars so he can have a mediocre team in Vegas? He already has that here. Stop linking what is going on with the A's with the Quakes.
No doubt Fisher tanked this season on purpose. I don't believe he was trying to condition Oakland for a smooth move though. He just didn't want to spend money when he already knew he was going to move the team.
I don't think he's purposely trying to make the team bad. But they've been very low spending for a long time and sometimes do very well. Something different is happening - I don't know if they spent an extra small amount or what, or they're double / tripling down on a rebuild? But yeah, forgot to mention, about the rough year or two upcoming - possibly the worst baseball team in the history of baseball. They have 3-16 record with a -86 run differential, which means they lose by an average of 4-5 runs per game. 10-1, 11-1, 12-0, 13-1 games are common if not the norm. Last 3 games against the Cubs - 10-1, 4-0, 12-2.
Of course, of course. But just to be sure I would like an unequivocal statement from the Quakes that they are 100% not moving. Make it simple and clear for us.
Exactly and I am not liking anything. Las Vegas wants an MLS team to play in the Raiders stadium. Fisher wants to move his A’s there so again why wouldn’t he want to have a soccer team in Vegas and who says a Vegas soccer team would be crap?
Quakes05 and I both theorized this scenario long ago. Everyone says it can't possibly happen but now we are one step closer...
If anything , I forsee a Las Vegas soccer team being fairly extravagant as opposed to one in San Jose. Just because he has a crap team in San Jose doesn't mean he will have a similar team in Vegas.
MLS has been working with a potential ownership group for a Vegas expansion team. That ownership group is not Fisher and they are not looking to play in the Raiders' stadium. None of this has anything to do with the Quakes.
