As for the ComEd easement, hopefully we can use it to plant a rain garden or other runoff/water management purpose. With all of those parking lots, there's going to be a lot of runoff.

Sorry. What was I thinking [puts down crack pipe]. But maybe we should lobby Wilty and see if he can make this happen.

I passed by the site yesterday on the way to Darien and it does look like a huge site with everything down ready for construction.

I noticed on the site plan the BView city limits begin just after you come down over the bridge from Bedford Park. That bridge certainly needs some improvements to its asthetics. I hope the village of Bford Park arent going to be jerks. Hope a visual improvement plant is in the offing for the this area, as it desperately needs helps. It would look ace if they took down the massive industrial metal light poles and replaced them with historic ones and had the hanging flowerbaskets and shubbery and such. It (the bridge) needs a little oomph. But as it fall the the jurisdiction of B'ford Park, they might act like jerks because they didnt get the strip mall like they wanted.

My own attachment to the idea is the industrial roots - I couldn't give a toss for Arsenal. My family roots are in Pullman, so an homage to that neglected part of the city history struck a chord with me. But also, the fact that so many factories throughout the city have or had the clock towers... anyway - It would be completly unique among US stadiums and inkeeping with the city's industrial roots.

But if we don't have it, I'm still excited and will get season tickets and be happy. :) And I promise not to voice anymore non-conforming opinions on this, our happy day :) and to await the joyfull coming of the full-color renderings which our architectural experts assure us will make all things clear :) and happy. :)

That GREAT ARCH will have a special hole through which we'll pour the hot boiling oil on unsuspecting Dallas supporters...."WHAT A WORLD, WHAT A WORLD!!!"

My big question is, how close to the field are the seats in the front rows? And how high above the field are they?

What I truly wanted to see was a Euro design where the fron row is almost level with the pitch and practically on top of the field.

Those are my questions pertaining to the new stadium.

As for the roof, why not cover all four sides, make it feel more homey and intimate/confined!

We should just adopt that as the club motto.

As you enter the stadium through the Great Arch you look up, and stamped in that stone in a heavy serif font for all time reads "CHICAGO FIRE SOCCER CLUB :: MCMXCVII 08 OCTOBER :: DALLAS SUCKS"

    You've got to be kidding.

A nice restored bridge on Harlem ave would not only put an actual bridge in BView...it'd help define the neighborhood.

    Harlem Bridge!
