I admit I am a noob when it comes to computer tech stuff. Yet, at least I am not a noob like yourself when it comes to women...
Actually, it's not in beta yet, it's alpha: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/3.0a1/releasenotes/
Correct. The branch for 3.0 (codenamed Gran Paradiso)is just now beginning to break from the main trunk (codenamed Minefield). The current roadmap has Firefox 3.0 due out in Q3 (July-September) 2007.
Anyone know what to do when trying to view a video and it asks that you enable Activex control? Not for me, someone with a Windows computer who was trying to view AOL videos.
First thing I would suggest is that person goto Microsoft.com and download the latest version of Active X then see what happens.
Actually, no. It's a good excuse to get me to fix all the broken images and the like, but I don't have time to do it now. Maybe if I take some vacation time next week. There is a little fix you can try: in Explorer, navigate to C:/Documents and Settings/username/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/profilename/extensions/bigsoccertoolbar@guilfoos.com. Open the "install.rdf" file in Wordpad, and change this line (near the bottom): Code: <em:maxVersion>2</em:maxVersion> ... to read: Code: <em:maxVersion>2.1</em:maxVersion> That *should* give you a temporary fix to the problem, as I suspect nothing has changed with the extension interface format.
ill try that. i guess i could always use the nightly tester tool also, but ill try editing that file.
Does anyone know of an add-on/setup where you can automatically check certain sites/email accounts whenever you startup firefox?
Yeah, seems like he's looking for live bookmarks. If a site has an RSS feed, you'll see an orange square in the address bar. Click on it, and it'll either subscribe to that feed or if there are multiple feeds for the page, ask you to choose one.
That is probably it, but I'm not sure you can do that to email, I will check on my gmail account (the server is down) but I couldn't find anything on Yahoo (which is crap anyways, damn them) and pretty sure not my school account. Any other possibilities?
*Yahoo Mail Notifier I've never used it so use at your own risk. You can also set up an RSS subscription to your Gmail account.
