The Fire end their 4 game "homestand" tonight against the mighty FC of Orlando. The Fire have actually earned 4 points from their last two games and, just as importantly, they are scoring goals. The Fire have scored 6 in the past two games, after scoring only 7 in the first 9 (and 1 in the previous 7 games). Unfortunately, Beric's lack of scoring continues. Tonight, he breaks out of his slump (I will say that each game until it happens. Eventually, I have to be correct.). Tonight it is "Captain's arm band" Night, so you may be allowed to replace Calvo in the starting line-up. Since he is away on Gold Cup duty (that just sounds dirty), the Fire will be in search of a new captain. Just wear a jersey and snag an arm band on your way into the stadium for a chance to "win"! [Note, this is not true. We are stuck with Calvo for the foreseeable future. Piotr Nowak he is not!] It is strange that the Fire chose a game where he was going to be gone for this promotion. They must have known he would likely be with Costa Rica this week. Gimenez is back in Chicago, after his amazing performance in Copa America. I mean, he was all over the place, on the field (playing in two games, starting one), on the bench, in the stands (not making the game day roster). Orlando has been a surprise hit this season, second in the East on 21 points. As a reminder, the Fire have 8 points so far this season. Again, half of those points coming in the past two games. Last time the teams met, Sept 19 in Orlando, the Fire were destroyed 4-1. This is Orlando's first ever trip to Soldier Field. The Fire have a rare winning record against Orlando, winning 4 games, drawing 5 and losing 3.
******** England. I’d say ******** the Lions if this was September and the Bears were headed to Detroit, but Orlando is just so… innocent that I really can’t muster up the false emotion required to mean it. Like, I hope they lose of course, but I don’t actively wish them to play bad or any real harm or anything. Chicago wins 3-1? Maybe?
My preference was to watch the Spanish feed, but Locast is boning me with the stream quality even tho I give them money. These announcers on Twitter are putting me to sleep. Listening to myself read the phone book would sound more exciting.
Why is Chicago Fire leading scorer Luka Stojanovic on the bench, again? Has he picked up a knock recently?
Fire tie it up at the death of the first half Sekulic with the header, missed by a sliding Beric and into the net.
I think you can take the "one of" out of your first sentence. The only player who is even close to Sekulic is Luka and he has been on the bench.
If someone told me that the word Berić was Slovenian for ‘offside’, given the past few weeks I’d have to to believe them.
Bison Steaks; Au Gratin Potatoes (from scratch)' Grilled Corn on the Cob Broccoli sauteed with a bit of butter, lemon juice & garlic.
Beric puts it miles over the bar "What a miss by Beric. The worst in the game so far."-SAP announcers
And just like that, Beric FINALLY Scores! Really, he should be on a hat trick tonight, but I am sure he will take the goal!
