No doubt on that. Once they play together enough to calibrate Kacper's movement with Shaqiri's passing they will find holes through defenses. But, . . . on the other hand, . . . Kacper's goals to xG with the chances he does get has to be one of the lowest among starting strikers in the league.. Maybe Duràn doesn't get in those positions as often and maybe he does better when he gets there. We know Kacper has not done the job.
On the other, other hand,... Duràn has a single goal, from 12 shots, 5 shots on goal. 324 minutes played Przybyłko has three goals, from 29 shots, 9 shots on goal. 1077 minutes played. Duràn takes a shot every 23 minutes on the field. He manages to hit the target 42% of the time. He scores 8.3% of the time he shoots, and 20% when he is on target. Przybyłko takes a shot every 37 minutes on the field. He manages to hit the target 31% of the time. He scores 10.3% of the time he shoots, and 33.3% when he is on target. Neither have very good numbers, Duràn seems to shoot more and score less often. I know this is a bit unfair, due to Duràn's limited time on the field. However, he has also played 171 minutes for the Chicago Fire II team and has 0 goals, 10 shots and 2 on target. It seems clear to all of us (and the numbers bear this out), if Przybyłko is going to continue as our starting striker, he needs to shoot more and needs to be more accurate with his shots.
Duran is, as Jiggs would say, a volume shooter. Kacper gets good chances and should at least finish close to his fair share of them. He's not.
Agree on both points, although a "volume shooter" who almost never scores is a net negative, as the "Volume" of shots takes away opportunities from other players to shoot...and, this being the Chicago Fire, probably miss.
the shots stat ignores the many, many times Kacper gets the ball in a dangerous position and does not get off a shot the raw stats also don't reflect the fact that Kacper gets much more run with the top midfield behind him playing fresher than late game situations
