Philadelphia are incredibly out of sorts here. Hacking and fouling all over the place. Incredibly stupid play by Jim Curtin's team.
Espinoza in for Mueller. Mueller has been player of the match, by a long shot. By the way, maybe it just the tv feed, but Section 8 seems to be silent tonight. The only crowd noise is an occasional bland "Let's Go, Fi-re" chant. Slonina kicked in the head.
Mueller took a hard foul from Wagner 5 minutes ago and has been fouled about 8 times. Probably safer to take him off. Putting Espinoza in his place does not make much sense. Ivanov, a player for all his (many) faults, plays in the attacking side of the field and can keep possession. Positionally, a like for like, quality-wise, not so much, unfortunately. 7 minutes of extra time?
Well, the Fire win against a surprisingly poor Philadelphia team. The three points are massive, but, other than Mueller's play and Slonina's amazing save, there is nothing to take away from the game.
Pretty sure the Union player was falling down before the Bornstein tackle. I don't think that was a definite pk, which is probably why it was let go. Still way too close at the end.
Well I guess when I voted WIN in the poll I was right because I combined WIN with SOMETHING STUPID HAPPENS and it was the most inexplicable result. I still don't know why Przyblkp played all 90 minutes. I mean he seems like a great dude but he ain't scoring and that's his damn job. Mueller MOTM for sure 100%. Gaga a great game and Czichos a great game and Fede Navarro with a goal which is worth something for sure. I just think drawing all those yellows trumps the goal.
Agree. He was looking for a reason to fall and not do the work with his rubber legs. It was a premature dive and an excellent no call on the part of the referee staff. Not saying that because I'm a Fire fan but saying that because I've got a ton of games under my belt as a referee. Oh and a ton of games in the 87th minute with rubber legs as a player.
I watched impractical jokers instead. Less chance of something stupid happening. Also where is the best cheesesteak on the south side?
He pretty good at the long throw. Remember the Anibaba long throws to Berry? They scored at least two/three times off of that.
We dominated, and Przybylko will be a lightning rod his entire time here. If he'd be on 10 goals it wouldn't matter.
Yes, he is "pretty good at it," but it amounts to nothing. Has even one reached the intended target? Considering Berry scored four goals in his Fire career, I doubt three were from long throws. It worked once as I recall, could have been two.
The idea of a long throw is less a direct target and more to throw off the keeper and create an opportunity on the rebound. Much like a corner kick. Basically, someone who's got a long throw can turn a throw-in into a corner kick and at that point, you have to consider if you want a corner or not.
Even if Ezra likes keeping Kacper on for defensive situations Shaqiri didn't need to play the last 10-15 minutes. Someone like Duràn, or Ivanov was needed to chase down clearances and pressure center backs. Maybe there was a gentleman's agreement on 3 subs between Ezra & Philly Jim. Philly only subbed 3 and had 2 keepers on their bench.
Sure, so the goal is the hope that "Something stupid will happen." Very on brand for OUR Chicago Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiire!
