News: Fire Moving to Soldier Field

Discussion in 'Chicago Fire' started by lncolnpk, Apr 2, 2019.

  1. The 130 Museum Campus bus doesn't normally run after 5:30-6:00. Maybe it can run late on game nights.

That bus sucks, and they cattle herd people using public transportation to Bears games, almost as if they disdain the fact that they did not drive. If you want to UBER or LYFT you need to get down to Queens landing because they cut off any ability to cross LSD before that point.

In 2016 I took the bus ride from Soldier's Field to Union Station with my son and it wasn't bad. Oh and it was free.

That's good to hear, clearly your experience may vary. Did you leave when the game ended or before the final whistle?

When the game ended. They had multiple buses waiting for people and it's nice because it's was an express ride to Union Station.

I’ll believe it when I see the official announcement. With that said, having the team play in a place people like to visit can only be good for attracting new fans.

I have one, but it's a pain in ass to go from Oswego to downtown Chicago. Oh and get screwed to park, I believe it was around 20 dollars back in 2005. God knows how much they would charge in 2020.

My wife gave me permission to get tickets next year if this happens. Ironically enough we were at the women's NCAA games at Wintrust and she commented there about how much she likes sporting events as long as we can walk to the stadium. This more than fulfills her criteria.

Spot Hero under the green line around 18th and take the bridge past soccer house into the stadium. A bit of a walk, but easier than the lots.

My new fanatasy stadium site is "the 78"/Rezkoville. Sigcho Lopez just won tonight in the 25th ward and has made it known he's going to be a pain in the ass to Related Midwest who owns it right now, so who knows what's going to happen there next.

As for the rebrand, I hate it, but I also really hate Sporting Kansas City, but they seem to have a good thing going, so I guess I'm just wrong about everything.

I still like Chicago Municipal (RIP).

The South Loop Club, at Harrison and State was our pre-game. then walk from there. Now, the 18th St. bridge has some nightlife on Indiana/Michigan/Wabash.

You have to think about the insults your name/acronym will engender. Like....Chicago Chity...and how to turn them back...like having a two-pole of Sean Connery captioned Chicago Chity.

P.S. would we retain the Cups and the JD Power award?

Hopefully after this is "officially" announced that three things will follow.

#1 Hauptman is bought out by Joe
    #2 NRod is fired
    #3 Pauno is fired

    Trifecta......

    #HauptmanOut
    #NRodOut
    #PaunoOut

I would not be a fan of a team not named "Chicago Fire." Fvck the rebrand.

“We’re Chitty and we like it!”

Or maybe a chant based on VanHalen’s “Panama”, replacing Panama with enema....

"Chitty" has great nickname potential. The name is growing on me, I hate to admit it.

i saw this thread right before i went to bed last night. made it a little tougher to fall asleep.

    buyout- good

move to sf- good/okay (future steps will determine if it is a good thing)

rebrand- f*ck no. we have the best badge in the league and a jersey that can be/ is iconic. it is not our fault that we had a sh*t owner that ruined it. (esp of they want to change it to just another city, united, fc team). #keepthechicagofire

DC have shown you can 'rebrand' while keeping your identity. Modernize the badge and be done with it.

How dare you not spend $20 to park and sit in a parking garage for an hour post game?
