I don't have any real confirmation of this, but the bella donna I mention in the "Visiting Firenze..." thread said that our 3rd kit is going to be yellow this year (apparently most Fiorentina fans in Italy also share my visceral hatred of the red kit), and we will also see the addition of a collar on the tops.

She said that the 3rd kit is nice, so I'm going to choose to believe her, given her absolutely amazing level of hotness.

Nice. Yeah, I'd be willing to bet that's the design. I hadn't seen those before.

You know what's funny about being in Italy? The relative lack of internet access and TV coverage changes the way I followed club news. I would check the various newspapers and pick up the one that had the most Fiorentina coverage that day, but I missed a lot of the rumor-mill stuff that way because so much of it is internet-based.

Hey. Not fair. Goal.com is a quality source that is ALWAYS trustworthy in the scoop that it provides.

Yeah. Hopefully Toyota rethinks this and fails to brake their association with us....

The yellow one reminds me of Udinese a lot. :p

I can't wait to see them play in it for the first time.
Also I personally liked the red one, I'll kind of miss it.

I haven't read who the new sponsor will be but I've been in New England on a tryst and not reading our news as much as normal.

No it's true. I just watched the presentation and they were very serious about getting the society's message about fair-play, anti-violence, etc. out there. And according to them, what better, more visible way than putting it on the jersey.

My question is this - why does it have to look like it could have been screen-printed on at Giacomo's sport shop? Surely SOMEONE in Florence has some design skill that they could have lent to this effort. I mean, we're in one of the most aesthetically pleasing cities in the world and THIS is our jersey? Horrid.

Though it would be funny as hell if we were a nasty team on the field....under the new manager, with this message on our shirts.

Last week Mencucci (I think) said it would be an "ottimo" sponsor. I didn't realize he was being so literal...

Hey Viola fans, I know I am entering hostile territory as a Romanisti, but I had a quick question. My brother is a Fiorentina fan and I am looking online for a jersey for him. On their official store website, their purple jersey is much cheaper than the white and red ones, and it says its the "economic version".. does this mean it is made out of the cheap stuff all those imitation replicas are made of? Anyways, if you could help I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Also, I am having a little trouble tracing down a good purple jersey (online) for a reasonable price. Any suggestions? It can be an older version as well..

The one that you linked to would be a pretty good replica, actually. It's just that we've dumped that design (and we don't have Toyota as a sponsor anymore), so they've discounted them pretty seriously. I'd go for it if you don't mind an older shirt.

I don't think you'll find a better deal on that one, at least not on a decent quality top.

And hey, sorry to hear that your brother got all of the taste in the family :)

So the fact that it is an "economical" shirt does not have anything to do with the quality of the shirt, at least to your knowledge? It is not one of those cheap knock offs they sell all over italy?

Haha, I would beg to differ... :)

Thanks for the timely response as well.
