Lendoiro talked about the possibility of fresh transfers at the club. He had to admit that Irureta was not very pleased of receiving Acciari. "Of course we would have liked to sign Vieira or Deco, as Javier considers them to be the best, but we have to know our limits", the president of Deportivo added. On a more positive note, Lendoiro announced that the debt of the club is down with almost 24 million euros, 23.72 millions to be more precise. Also, it is the sixteenth consecutive year that the club has been profitable, with a gain of 270.000 euros. Still, the debt of the club runs at 154 million euros, but Lendoiro estimated that the investments in the players will probably be recovered in six or seven years, much faster than the real estate investments.
Cost reduction has been a primary objective for Lendoiro, and the lack of important signings has been one of the negative effects on the team. But next year, the club will try to extend it's capital to 60 million euros, providing a good opportunity to strengthen the club for it's centenary anniversary.

This is good news!! Throwing in new players will definitely help out...but more importantly it's good to see that the debt is being managed properly. This way we don't end up like Leeds United or Dortmund....

Yes the trick for us is to sign smart. We need to sign players who will help the team, but we should not over spend whenever possible.

Well lets start with a win today

    Ehhhhh.....

    Depor's debts: 154 Mio Euro
    Dortmund's debts:
    118 Mio Euro

Seems to me that one of these numbers is bigger than the other.....

Then somebody isn't being very clear here...

Looks like we're gonna end up like Dortmund after all.
