Our only projected match in P.A. people say it's like a home game but I doubt the local folks are gonna welcome us

But playing against the German, Turkey & Poland at the same time is always the hardest.

Actually, the head of Internacional's Torcida (the brazilian term for barra brava) is actually inviting and hosting a bunch of barras from Argentina called Hinchadas Unidas Argentinas... Made up mainly of the independiente barra who signed a friendship agreement with the Inter barra a few years ago. Actually, in a recent Argentina match, there was a flag in the popular that was the flag of Rio Grande do Sul, which is the state Porto Alegre is in. The Barra of Inter was present at that match supporting argentina.

Yeah but you think the non-barra folks are gonna want us to be succesful against their team? I heard about that barra agreement. I think it's pretty cool in some aspects but I doubt it will last long if we face the hosts

I think Sepp and his buddies are more worried about the demonstrations that will take place during the world cup, that will be so embarrassing for the sun God and his minions.

Pele thinks the demonstrators are idiots and the deaths of construction workers is quite okay. Man of the people.

As for Nigeria they are showing a pronounced vulnerability at set piece and out wide. The defence gets dragged about easily and lacks discipline to hold to two lines of four or five. di Maria and Zabby should have plenty of room to work in. Messi in between the lines will run riot.

The first choice keeper is also far from impressive.

Even though we always beat them, history proof Nigeria always push us to the limit using their physical strength especially in second half. Even Ivory coast looks slightly better than us in 2006 in last 30 minutes because their phsyical strength. If fail to break the deadlock after 70 mins, its more likely they're the one that will hit us. It happened to us once against African team in 1990 group stage. They scored around 70 mins mark and did everything to prevent the equalizer.

I might be wrong (I usually am :) ) but this does not strike me as a particularly good Nigeria team.

Like a good company man that he is, Pele will not hear a bad word said against his boss Blatter.

Nothing about barras and agreements they have is good. Especially Argentine barras going to the world cup and taking tickets from people who work for a living and deserve those tickets.

Is Argentina playing Nigeria in the World Cup group stage becoming a
    tradition?

    1994.. 2002...2010 and now 2014

Apart from that we won all the other encounters. It was actually U20 2005 not 2007. We beat them 4-1 in latest friendly 2 or 3 years ago.

The Belgium winner in 1982 opener was blatant offside.

    how to get a tie...
we don't want to lose this and have to play France, but cards are not worth it to get a win.
Actually, I'd rather lose than getting any cards. Rojo should of taken a yellow today but score didn't come early enough for him to have that flexibility. Oh well.

The good thing is Nigeria is also guaranteed to advance with a tie, so they might play for that score. If they attack and try to win, they'd leave more spaces and allow us to counter. If we beat them, they could be eliminated if Iran defeats Bosnia.

So in other words, they'll most likely just play for a 0-0 (like Iran did) to guarantee a spot in R16. This would also be beneficial to us since a tie would still assure us the first place spot, meaning we wouldn't have to get desperate to score anyhow.

I dont care who will play in midfield against Nigeria, but Messi needs to be closer to the goal OR he can just being more CR a little bit and takes a long range more often cause I just couldnt trust the other attackers at all. I wanna see Ricky Alvarez perhaps instead of Gago or even Maxi (this time in 4-3-3 formation).

Palacio almost score when he came in and Lavezzi indirectly involved on Messi's goal and I'd like to see them start in this match. Who knows Kun and Pipita will be more effective coming off from the bench, especially Kun who often delivers that way for Argentina.

No it was not a "blatant"offside goal. I was at that game.
You are talking about the 3rd goal, It was pretty close but
Sensini, iirc, moved too late and kept the Nigerian player onside.
    Great game though.

I would get Pocho and Enzo the start over Kun and Gago. Aguero was completely transparent the first two games and I doubt Enzo could be slower than Gago. He makes Pirlo looks like Usain Bolt in comparison.
I dont think both of these guys (Kun and Gago) can play 3 games in 12 days either. They need a breather.

I dont think Kun has fitness issue. Our forwards just looking nervous because they havent got the goal. Lavezzi or Kun? it depend on their form in that particular day. Lavezzi was like headless chicken in all Copa America games and Kun scored 3 goals which save us from group stage elimination. He also scored a brace against Bosnia 2 months ago. Lavezzi in comparison has been wastefull with his chances just like Palacio throughout qualifier.

However, this time could be the opposite.
