He has. We need di Maria, Pavon then as targets out wide or drifting in and behind but I cannot see Tagliafico and Mercado pushing up unless ordered or the situation demands. In this case Lo Celso would be ideal as he would be comfortable going beyond Messi and can finish.

Between Aguero and Higuain, I'm finally settled on Aguero:
    1) He doesn't have the mental baggage.
    2) He's fresh.
    3) If we win a pk, he should take it. Messi has missed last 5/10 and I certainly don't trust Higuaín!

Lo Celso can play box to box with ease. Picks up the ball from the defence or wins it and he has plenty of speed and is great at dribbling and carrying the ball. I think he is the best box to box player we have had since Redondo. Forget Rolon or even Cecchini I think this kid is special. And yet to play one minute. It is a crime.

he only played false 9 for barca this season for 2 games at the beginning of the season. He scored two goals in one of them and hit the post 3 times! in the other game

If (and I stress the word "if") we do get past France we simply can't keep going with a midfield that includes Masch and Perez, they are just to old to play so many games in such a short period of time. At some point Celso has to be given playing time.

Yes, with Lo Celso for Enzo.

    -Mercado-Ota-Rojo-Tag-
    ---Lo Celso-Masch-Ban---
    -Pavon---Messi--Di Maria-

Not just Lo Celso. It is absolutely criminal that Asascibar was never even considered. This kid has the ability to replace Mascherano and surpass anyone in his position. Add to that Foyth and that midfield looks great going forward. But even now Lo Celso and Santiago would add so much to this team.

Speed, ball recovery, the ability to organize and create quick transitions ideal for Messi, steel and calmness and no little creativity from Lo Celso certainly including the ability to play balls over opposition defences and in behind them with pin point accuracy. Simply criminal. Add to this both would get invaluable experience for 2022.

I'm hoping Senegal equalize as this makes both Belgium and Englands jobs harder. Colombia and Senegal are better than Japan.

    Higuain the best

If its up to the manager, I dont believe one bit Icardi would be left behind in favor of this guy.

Lanzini was Sampanico's starter. Lo Celso is his most natural replacement. Enzo was a last minute addition. Yet Lo Celso hasn't gotten a minute.
    Bizarre

Another massive blunder. Icardi does not have the mental baggage Higuain does. Yes he may miss but it doesn't bother him. He goes in once again. Doesn't give the proverbial you know what. Higuain was crying after the Nigeria game and I suspect a fair bit of that was relief. He might as well be wearing an iron cuirass when he dons the shirt.

Yep, Enzo a last minute addition and now undroppable, just weird.

If wasnt Rojo's goal, this would be the fourth consecutive time Higuain missed an open goal in crucial moments. 2014-2016 + 2018. This miss would be forgotten because of Rojo's winner, lucky for him.

Colombia top Group H, Japan second only on yellow cards. Very harsh on Senegal. One of Belgium or England get a fairly easy tie.

And I think he was slow to react to Messi's pass in the first half. That's why he was crying tears of relief. As we all said , well most of us the guy should never have been picked. Icardi can work better than him and he has done that at Internazionale this season. He has become a more complete forward.

Well you cannot rely on Biglia. Sampaoli wasted at least three spots in his squad. Which may or may not come to bite him in the backside.

Biglia was hugging Messi for almost a minute after the game against Nigeria as well. There is no logical explanation for his presence in the squad. Complete muerto. And also probably not even fully fit whatever that might do for him. Perhaps make him walk faster. The worst number 5/8 to play for Argentina.

As everyone knows, there's absolutely nothing that Higuain could do that Icardi cant except Icardi mentallity is 10 x better and has always been a much better finisher.

Obviously these veterans has impact on the player selection.

Does anyone know how Di Maria scored 21 goals in 44 matches this season? He's always been a good scoring winger but those are striker levels!

Is it too late for the AFA to petition FIFA to allow Higuain to finally play for the country of his birth?

If possible then we can put Willy's in and let him make the same mistake, France still not going to score from it.
