What a tough group... Egypt and Italy will give us lots of trouble. Spain will have a field day.

Loving the group, we should advance along with Italy.

We need to aim for first place and avoid Spain until the final.

A Brasil vs Spain final would be a beauty.

Amazing how unbalanced the groups are, I guess they really want South Africa to atleast make the 2nd round.

This is a great group for Brazil! Italy is Italy, obviously. The US is better than everyone thinks. Egypt has a great team performing as well as any non-SA/European team (excellent in last year's African Cup). All three of Brazil's opponents need results and will play cautiously, the kinds of games with packed midfields that have given Brazil problems over the past 2 and a half years.

In short, it is a perfect dress rehearsal for the World Cup. I'm resigned to the fact that Dunga will be coach for the WC (not Muricy :(), so let's hope the team can slog through the group. It definitely won't be like the last Confederations Cup and that 25-pass move against Argentina which provided, in retrospect, a false sense of the World Cup.

Brazil's touoghest opponent is definitely Italy.

Also, if Brazil qualifies another difficult opponent is Spain.

    Beware of the two teams.

haha the USA are in for another physical encounter with Italy. I wonder if De Rossi will do us a favor and get carded in that match!

I like this - it would give us the chance to "test" against 2 good countries, in preparation for 2010.... assuming we classify for 2010, and beat Italy first!:D - We need a game against Spain!

Oh man, another game vs the USA. Is it just me or do we always make that game close with them?

Yes, because the US will play with 9 men behind the ball, the story of every Brazil home game in these qualifiers.

There's usually a surprise in every tourney and in Group B it may not be Brazil and Italy advancing...It might be Brazil and the US!!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. The referees will make sure Brazil and Italy advance even if the US manages to put up a fight (Phantom red cards, penalties, etc.) :(

Just my opinion, though. However, I would love to be proven wrong/

These are all very important significant games! I hope we have about the maximum strength team... however, there are injuries and other stuff!

    examples:

Maicon will still be injured (?)..
Doni is out for 3 months due to injury (?)
    Adriano?

I want to see Pato playing a lot. It will be interesting to see if Kaka' gets the call up. With his recent injuries, he could use the summer to really heal up well. As for Ronaldinho, I think Dunga may be seeing the light based on his comment that he needs to be starting at AC Milan. He can't call a player that is warming up the bench week in and week out.

honestly? do we seriously need Doni. Im happy with JC between the 2 sticks. but maybe this is a sign that Keirrison might be called up. I mean any other options? maybe Amauri. but i feel something well change by the time May 21st comes around.

We will be taking goleiros to the Confederations Cup. I think at least one of the three should come from a Brazilian club. Who is the best in Brazil right now?

Best goalie in Brazil ,from what ive seen Bruno (Fla) or Felipe (Corinthians)

Rubinho of Genoa is also a good option IMO.

Doni is out so there is an opportunity for a new face. I just feel to ignore local talent is to create a nation of disenchanted footballers.

He called up Elano when he was warming the bench. Dunga has a thing for out of form, past their prime players.

I like to see some new faces. Players that we consistently ask to be called up.

Today is the day that Dunga picks the CC squad!! Wondering who the 2 rightbacks will be since Maicon and Dani Alves are both injured?? Rafinha, Ilsinho, hell I'd even take Cicinho...cause he's one of the best crossers of the ball!!
