BREAKING: English FA suspends backing of Platini's FIFA presidential campaign after learning more information about his 2011 payment— Rob Harris (@RobHarris) October 16, 2015
I wrote the minutes of FIFA ExCo meetings from 2001 to 2010. During that period, I was instructed several times to misrepresent discussions.— Scott Burnett (@scottjburnett) October 23, 2015 The instructions to misrepresent meetings came from the President's office among others.— Scott Burnett (@scottjburnett) October 23, 2015 I did not share this information before because I was concerned about the repercussions and I did not know who to trust within FIFA circles.— Scott Burnett (@scottjburnett) October 23, 2015

Blatter: Russia Decision Made Before Vote http://news.sky.com/story/1577675/blatter-russia-decision-made-before-vote Edit: Here's the original article http://tass.ru/en/sport/832283 Edit 2: Reading the original article now. This man is insane. But this comment about England made me LOL
Making a decision before formal voting isn't that criminal as it looks IMO but Blatter seemingly throwing Platini under the bus and also continuously laying blame on US/UK conspiracy rather than acknowledging issues is pretty hilarious.
I for one hope everybody keeps throwing everybody under the bus at FIFA, UEFA, DFB etc. now that the insider networks finally are clearly becoming more and more worthless by the day.
I'm not reading anything beyond the headlines, anymore. Can someone summarize this for me, after it's over?
Another interview with Blatter this time with FT. http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/2/5457de04-7e48-11e5-a1fe-567b37f80b64.html#axzz3pwVX0rLC This little nugget was news to me:
It boggles my mind that anything could cost $7billion let alone 24 fighter jets. I remember 60 Minutes doing a piece on a similar subject which highlighted an F16s nuts and bolts with costs over hundreds of dollars per. The military has always been a vortex of needless spending. Anyways, have at it Qatar, you 'stupid rich' muthas
Not surprising given the revelations about Germany's WC bid. Seems like football and arms dealing go hand in hand. That figure probably includes future software upgrades etc. While there is definitely plenty of waste in gov't spending, think about the ridiculous tolerances required for these parts. If a Veyron needs $30,000 tires then this should come as no surprise.
And the durability under high stress conditions are incredible. There are F-16s that are still flying with upgrades/retrofits that were originally built in the late 70s/early 80s. It really reinforces the notion that investing in military suppliers like lockheed martin or boeing or raytheon, etc. is a sound investment over the long term.
No doubt that the biggest, baddest, bad boy of them all was the SR-71. Thing was designed using slide rules. This is a great story (of many floating around) about the SR-71. It's been plastered all over the internet so you may have read it before, but it's a great read every single time. http://oppositelock.kinja.com/favorite-sr-71-story-1079127041
Not to derail the thread, but buy and read the book, "skunk works". It's a must read and he talks at length over the SR-71's development...

DW correspondent at #DFB HQ: #Niersbach resigned due to "new info about 6.7 million euros turned up by external investigation"— DW Sports (@dw_sports) November 9, 2015
lol. Niersbach resigns as #DFB chief but he's keeping his positions on #FIFA and #UEFA executive committees. Football logic. #Niersbach— _ (@cfaheyap) November 9, 2015
