The match was moved to Halpatiokee Soccer Complex at the last minute due to the substantial rainfall that our area received. O'Jardim has a drainage problem on the right wing and both clubs opted to move the match to a different pitch. The 0-0 end result was due to the match being called off before the first half due to lightning and heavy rain. With any result not effecting the standings, both club owners opted to call the match a draw and have no replay. Thanks for showing up and I'm sorry that you weren't able to enjoy the match. I hope your able to check out a match in the very near future.

The Galleons home field, Lakewood, is in Ft. Pierce, correct? I'm sure I watched a high school match there about a year ago on a visit to Port Saint Lucie I will be moving to PSL very soon, so my 'home team' has got to be the PSL Hurricanes. They seem to be an under-acheiving side. As an 11 year Metro/RBNY season ticket holder, I can pick up where I leave off!
How cross-town are these teams? I get the impression that the Galleons are located in Ft. Pierce, while the Hurricanes are in Port Saint Lucie. I know the towns are close to each other, but if someone live in PSL -- say between the toll road and I95, just north of PSL Blvd -- which team would be closer to home?
The Galleons play all of their matches out of Lawnwood Stadium in Ft. Pierce. (10 mins north of PSL). The Galleons office and training facilities are located within Port St. Lucie, same go's for their academy as well. The Hurricanes play their matches within St. Lucie West, within the Tradition Field Sports Complex at South County Stadium.... Univerisity Blvd. across the street from the NY Mets Tradition Field. The Galleons played a few matches within South County Stadium last year and are planning on playing one or two regular season matches at South County for the up and coming 2008 season.
Will FESL be playing a 2008 season? How many teams will be in the league and where will they be located?
2008 kick off is slated for late April or the first week in May. Teams are still being sorted out... the FESL should announce their club teams for the up and coming season after their winter meetings in January.
As mentioned above, the FESL is still accepting bids for those who want enter a club into the league. For those who are interested, you can contact the league president at FESLCommish@hotmail.com .
