Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread don't forget chelsea vs burnley in espn2 sat 8/29 at 7:45am et lets hope guerrero plays some in this match!!!
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread Amazing praise for Guerrero from Burnley coach Owen Coyle: http://www.clubcall.com/burnley/coyle-vows-attacking-play-938488.html One player who was entertaining in the 2-1 Carling Cup win over Hartlepool this week was 19-year-old Ecuadorian winger Fernando Guerrero, on loan from Independiente del Valle. Coyle reserved special praise for the teenager after the win and tipped him to have a big impact on the Clarets season. He added: "Without singling out individuals, when you look at young Guerrero at 19 years of age, for me he was worth the admission money alone. "His performance was a throwback to old-fashioned wingers, which I love. He is positive, he looks to take people on and that's what we are trying to do."
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread Guerrero is on the bench, let's hope he gets some playtime at least in 2nd half. Probably if chelsea are winning by the end of 1st half, Owen will have to put Guerrero on to add some creativity in the midfield.
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread 3-0 Chelsea victory, honestly no surprises here...although the scoreline could have been by a much bigger margin. Guerrero's entrance into the game in the last 15 minutes (i think) didn't change much. he had a decent mark on belletti for one play and his last run down the left wing was good enough to show his ability although he's still very green and needs more time to adjust. he likes to challenge players 1-on-1 with the ball at his feet, he was shut down 3 times but i like his persistence, and he does a good amount of running. i'm excited to see him start in the smaller cup games and hopefully earn more manager confidence for more playing time for the PL
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread Guerrero comes in loses the ball 3 times, makes a brave tackle then finally entertains with some flashy footwork but when he centers the ball hits the defender, pops up the air, and he jumps up wins the ball but sends to to a goal kick and almost breaks his ass, literally. The bad: -he tries to do to much and shouldve passed more often. The good: -showed no fear in taking those huge (compared to him) chelsea defenders on.
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread agree 100% at least i got some footage of him.... i will have to loop over and over that flashy footwork of him at the end. His manager laughed when he almost chip his coxis... More games on the leage cup should give him more condfidence. He needs to get with Valencia and ask him his exercise and nutrituonal regime so he can get some much needed muscle mass.
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread Guerrero once again is being talked about. Sure it was a friendly against a championship team, buttt he scored his goal, and had 2 assists. And is making progress learning english. Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread You guys think he'll come in on the second half against Liverpool?
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread Guerrero rode the bench today in Burnley's 4-0 loss to Liverpool.
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread Ehhh.. He came in last time and left eagles riding the bench (against chelsea).. The good thing is he's a starter in the cup games and Blake the guy who starts before him is 32, so I'm sure it won't be long before he takes the old man's spot in a position where speed is crucial.
Re: Ecuatorianos en el exterior -part III I have a feeling Guerrero won't have much much playing time this season not because he's untalented though. I think a team like Burnley aren't too interested in fielding an offensive team (Guerrero is purely offensive player). What do you all think?
Re: Ecuatorianos en el exterior -part III Depeneds. If they play a club like Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, of course. If they play Spurs, Everton and the likes, they might wait and see how the match is going. There might be some instances where they say, "we could win this..." If they play other teams that are battling relegation every season, like Stoke and Hull, they will more than likely go for the 3 points. they have to if they want to stay up - especially if playing at home.
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread Another bench ride today for Guerrero, sadly. It was an impressive 3-1 victory over Steve Bruce's Sunderland.
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread I think its because they play a match during international break and he did not play good. Something about trying to take too many defenders with his head down.
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread As soon as they scored from that penalty Guerrero wasn't coming in.
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread He'll come in nicely.. I love left footed players and he has a great left foot. No need to rush him. Ecuador won't need him this time around. only If he was 2-3 inches taller..
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread http://www.clicklancashire.com/sport/premiership/123686-coyle-heaps-praise-on-guerrero.html “I believe Fernando is going to be a top, top player.” Said Coyle. ... “But anyone who paid their admission money would have been delighted with how pleasing he was on the eye and Eagles raiding down the right.”
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread He came on in the 80th minute. Burnley still lost 5-0 to the Spurs.
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread Yea, but he got on, won a foul, and had a pretty good shot that went just wide of the goal. If he keeps it up, its just a matter of time before he starts.
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread He is injured along with a couple other players, so that's the reason he wasn't called for the game
Re: Fernando Guerrero - Official Thread Any updates on this player? Where is playing now? Where will he play?
