Steve Davis knows his stuff. Link here: http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/07/sounds-like-fernando-clavijo-is-back-in-mls/
Well that's a lackluster hire. The guy was terrible in MLS, then worked with the crooks over at Traffic....but it's ok, he played in MLS and knows people in South America. I guess Steve Sampson wasn't available.
I'll remain optimistic about this. Fernando Clavijo might've been a crap coach, but the requisite skill sets for coach and for TD are quite a bit different.
I wasn't a fan of the Hyndman hire - but that has worked okay since he got here. I was not a big fan of the Ellinger hire - but that has not been a total disaster. I am not a fan of the Clavijo hire - his MLS teams were pretty poor and boring to watch. But as a TD this has the potential to not be a dumpster fire. I guess we will see. How's that for an endorsement?
As a Rapids fan I have to think this is nothing but bad news for you guys, That said, all of you saying he was a bad coach should remember how the '05 and '06 seasons ended.
Sure, why not! Season is looking to be a good one, DF is making return so let's hire the little sh!t that ruined our playoff runs. Do the Hunts not remember his sorry a$$ starting trouble with fans during games by taunting them. He's a chilito!
