2nd round Carling Cup "American Benny Feilhaber could make his debut tonight as Derby County look to progress to the third round of the Carling Cup for the first time in six years...... As well as Feilhaber, a number of other players are set to be handed a chance to impress including David Jones, Dean Leacock and possibly young right-back Jason Beardsley. The likes of Bob Malcolm and Jon Macken are also still waiting to taste match action for the first time this season. “It is important we freshen up and the tie allows us to look at certain players,” said Davies. “The league is our bread and butter but we want a run in the cup and we are very much up for this tie. “We always look to win games and it doesn't matter whehter it is a league match, cup tie or friendly.” Feilhaber arrived in a £1m deal from German club Hamburg earlier this month and played 90 minutes for the USA against Sweden last week. Davies says the 22-year-old midfielder has settled in well and he was an unused substitute in the defeat at Tottenham." http://www.therams.co.uk/details.as...873132&parentkey=1D29|0|2185366269754|p|536|0 Hope Benny starts tonight. It will be a tough match with Cola-ship side Blackpool looking to show how good they are. I think Eddie Lewis is cup-tied?
Right. But it took me about 10 minutes to figure that out. At any rate, let's hope that Benny tears up the field against lower division Blackpool...
Radio Derby will have an audio stream... http://www.bbc.co.uk/derby/ Anyone know if they block non-uk ip addresses for Carling Cup?

Re: Feilhaber: Teams ******** visas, what are the odds he doesn't get to play before the Brazil game? They're looking pretty good right now. And if he's having visa problems then why was he on the bench against Spurs?
Yeah I read that, but I also saw the guy (on the original Nep thread) who posted that he'd sat behind Benny on Saturday.... ...we had a bad experience with a striker from Argentina - Fuertes - who went with the team on a pre-season tour to Portugal and when the team came back in the country he was stopped as he had a dodgy passport. So I thought maybe the visa thing was a wind-up ala Fuertes. Listening to Radio Derby still nothing said by Billy Davis so maybe the visa thing is true - more poor admin on derby's part if so.
Re: Feilhaber: Teams so visa problems prevent him from working but not being in the country? I wonder if he has been paid yet.
Spot on metroflip - had an Italian passport, apparently! There must be something, afterall Billy was telling us how well Benny trained? If Radio Derby find out owt I'll post it, all the Derby messageboards are repeating similar rumours.....
I am sure Benny will be fine. Eddie Lewis was a fine pick up for Derby, saw the hilite of Lewis assisting the Derby goal from the weekend. Just wish Lewis had some gas left in the tank at LM for the USA, really.
