There is a similar thread, but I think this match deserves a special one.

On wednesday, Februart 9, 2011, San Marino will play again the only national team they ever beat: after their 1-0 win in April, 2004, and a 2-2 draw at Vaduz, back in August 2003, this will be a golden chance for Serenissima to reach their second ever win, and maintain their invincibility against Liechtenstein.

As of yet it is hard to find any information on this match, other than its confirmation in FIFA.com and sports calendar sites. Perhaps sanmarinortv.sm will bring more news as the special day approaches, since they usually cover their nazionale activities on a close approach.

Forget about France - Brazil, or even Germany - Italy. This will be the one match to take the spotlight in February 9.

    Forza Serenissima!

Unfortunately for gli titani, this new encounter with Liechtenstein didn't end with the dreamed repetition of the history written almost seven years ago.

A very early - roughly three minutes after kick-off - red card show to San Marino's captain and veteran Damiano Vanucci by Italian referee Luca Banti complicated all the prospects Serenissima had for the match, and the end result was a 0-1 loss, match's lone goal score being Italian-born, naturalized Liechtenstein player Michele Polverino.

Sanmarinortv.sm has a few articles on the game, the most articulate point of them precisely the influence of the early sent off on the Nazionale disposition and temperament, and coach Giampaolo Mazza's indignation towards the referee strictness.

Congrats to Liechtenstein for the win, and here's hoping San Marino makes it a habit for playing friendlies.
