Wow:eek: ...scandalous result...how does the holder of the Trophy lose at home to a 2nd division Team?

    JF should be fired:rolleyes:

How about Quaresma hitting the post in extra time to miss a PK.

I wish I could have seen PDC face after this one:D

    The final score was 1-0.

Quaresma also missed a bogus penalty in the final minute of the game!!:D
Even with the refs help, porto (portugal's greatest team:confused: ) couldn't beat a 2nd division squad!!

Hey Porto fans, come out of hiding and show yourselves!! (I mean VicVR6)
    Bwahaha!!

    your porto feelings hurt VicVR6???;)

Now that's the ultimate choke act!!

Certainly one of the most embarassing results in the last years...
No excuses, more than 15 days of vacations and thats what happens to the players.

    Here were the lineups

    FC PORTO
Vítor Baía; Fucile, Ricardo Costa, João Paulo, Cech; Raul Meireles, Paulo Assunção, Ibson; Vieirinha, Quaresma e Bruno Moraes.

Suplentes: Paulo Ribeiro, Lisandro, Tarik, Bosingwa, Sokota, Alan e Adriano.

    Treinador: Jesualdo Ferreira

    ATLÉTICO
Marco; Pedro Pereira, Rolão, Ricardo Aires, Junior; Simões, Marco Bicho, Lapinha; Nuno Gaio, David e Edmar.

Suplentes: Paulo Grilo, João Pedro, Gonçalo, Rui Andrade, Hugo Freire, Artur Jorge Vicente e Lula.

    Treinador: Toni Pereira

So I guess Porto has excuses...

Helton ("best GK in the world") not there
PEPE ("Best CD in the world") not there
and Anderson (New Pele/Ronaldinho/Garrinhca/Rivelino) not there

Atletico is in the II liga B!!!!!!!!!! the third tier.

I guess the long break, slowed down Porto's rhythem of good form they had.

    yeah I did actually...

    just returning the favour.

Doesnt get any worse than losing to a II B team at home.

and, Porto hasnt choked in quite sometime, So I must milk this for all its worth:D

oh man, Quaresma cant believe it missing a patented PDC penalty in injury time.

the Atletico player, is a good sport and trying to make him feel better.

If only ANDERSHOW was there, he would have shot that penalty through the net and the net would have had a hole in it and bursted into flames!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111111

I didn't watch this game so I can only comment on how shocking and embarrassing this loss is to Porto, a team that is by far the best in Portugal. But in the game of football we all know shocking results like this happen from time to time.

As far as some of the Sporting fans coming in here and celebrating, good for you. I'm glad to say I don't go into Sporting threads and rub it in every time they choke (I'd be rather busy if that was the case). It's perfectly normal for rival fans to be happy about their hated rivals losing, especially a game like this, but the way you Sporting fans have behaved in this thread is downright low-class. I'd expect better than that from some of you.

Guess now we will just concentrate on the CL and on defending our liga title. Not sure our rivals can say the same.

Dude, it's the Portugal Cup. Who cares....... Do you honeslty think that the players lost sleep over this?? They are in the CL and will win the league, that's all it matters.

wow, so many trolls! Enjoy it guys, something like this happens to Portugal's best team once every 10 years.
We could have been all day on the field and we still wouldn't score. It is JF's job to make sure the players get focussed again...

Ah, so the best thing to do is reflect the meaning or importance of something once you aren't in it any longer. Hey, it's the Taça de Portugal - no biggie  Whatever...

Also - I don't like the trolling as much as you do, but I guess it's poetic justice, isn't it? I mean, some of you have no qualms trolling in other forums after a big derby win, or seeing a rival go down to a minnow. If you can dish it out, then you sure as hell need to be man enough to take it. Just my ¢.02 worth :)

This is by far the best post at "deflecting" I've ever seen:D

Tripeiros now don't care about these "meaningless" competitions...

They don't care that is until they win them.

The irony here is not the fact the Porto lost AT HOME to a 3rd Division team. The irony here is that Tripeiros are attempting to deflect this by naming teams and games that "other" teams have lost.

Hey fellas...this thread is about this game...not those "other" team's games..

What happened to Porto. How do you explain a loss AT HOME when you are utilizing a very strong linuep and even get a "gift" at the end and can't seal the deal...

We'll my friends if that isn't choking, then I don't know what is...

Also keep in mind those "other" teams lost in "very Meaningful" competitions so there was obviously much more pressure then playing a 3rd Division team AT HOME with a "regular" starting lineup..

Heck the Tripeiros even started the "great" Vitor Baia...

So for the record, if you are going to brush aside these "meaningless" competitions please don't include them when referring to Porto's Trophy Case, because you can't discard the loses but gladly accept the trophies when you win these competitions...
