I think Co was trying stuff out... We had 3 defenders on the field... Pepe, P Emmanuel and R. Costa. With Quaresma and Peixoto playing the whole wing... It's no big deal that they lost.

Pepe isn't exactly FC Porto material...why is he still in Porto?

Yes you are right, also the weather was hot, the grass wasn't watered, the players are tired.......we will be listening to this all year.

What do you expect. They are focusing more on winning the Volta a Portugal than winning the league

I think they are busy polishing all of the trophies they have...

Why play anymore when you are 2 time CL Champ and 2 Time Intercontinental Cup champ..

Do you understand that the "big" clubs don't have to play well:rolleyes:

They will just win on Reputation alone;)

Come on guys. It's a pre-season match. The first one too!

I didn't watch it but I'll probably assume Co was trying out two seperate teams in two halves. Any Portista who saw it want to confirm?

About the only person that cares about winning pre-season friendlies is Mourinho.

I'm just surprised GoodDead and the other Portista weren't here giving minute by minute detail from Maisfutebol like they did when Benfica played their first match.

Right... so Adrianse trying stuff out with his line up like using 3 defenders is very uncommon for pre-season game... and losing ... Porto is well on their way to midtable status like this right?? You guys all jump at one friendly loss, and then start this bs. Porto defeated Liverpool with last year's team. Friendlies don't mean sh!t...

Wrong.....he picked a team of the best cream of the crap against Vitesse. The first goal was an own goal of Pedro Emanuel (he is spending too much time with Ricardo Rocha) and the second a give away from Pepe.

The rest of the team was playing an exibition game against Macabbi with 2 halfs of 30 minutes that ended scorless.

Now you ask yourselves how a Benfica knows all of this, because i believe in the old saying: "Keep your friends close but your enemies closer".

Anybody that puts too much stock in pre-season results must be a new follower of the game. When Porto wins friendlies, i dont hear you fellas coming here to claim how great Porto must be.

We leave that to you guys...

Sugar coat this all you want...Porto is in trouble...why do you think Co Adriaanse keeps begging to bring in defenders...

could it be because your defense sucks...2-0 to a 7th place team....
