Points are still up for grabs to make the play offs with many of the play off teams having played 20 games, they now have only 4 games left to make up any point differences in the league standings if they want to make a run for the play offs.

Projected Starting XI for FC Kansas City (4-4-2, Box Midfield - 2 Holding midfielders)

    Shouldn't be any major changes.

Projected Starting XI for Skyblue FC (4-3-3)

Same 4-3-3 as last match. One big change is Christie Rampone who is dealing with a concussion, so chances are CoCo Goodson will start in her place.

    Match Overview:

With Christine Rampone potentially sitting tommorrow, Skyblue will really have to be careful with Amy Rodriguez and Sarah Hagen pushing forward. Skyblue had a very good win over Washington, scoring 4 goals with Kelley O'Hara scoring 2 goals and 2 assists leading the way. Nadia Nadim was dangerous all match long and provided the needed spark for an offensively challenged side in Skyblue.

Kansas City on the other hand, hasn't been on form for the last 2 matches. The blow out loss to Portland where Lauren Holiday was out with food poisoning and the draw against a pesky Western New York side has allowed Portland to close the gap to 2nd place in the league standings to just 4 points. Kansas City does have a game in hand over Portland, so chances are they will have all the opportunity to seize home field advantage for the play offs.

The mantra for Kansas City is to finish off chances. There were many chances to pick up the go ahead goal against the Flash and Kansas City just could not find that extra goal to put the game away. A missed opportunity to really put a vise like grip on second place. With Skyblue, Kansas City will have another opportunity and with Rampone potentially out of the line up, the Blues will need to capitalize on this chance.

LePeilbet on the back line frightens me. Gorry at DM confuses me.

Wonder if Richmond took a knock? and Kallman has had some hamstring issues before right? Might be resting her.

2' Holiday with a beautiful through ball right into the box for Gorry, but Gorry would miss just wide. Should of scored there, but I am worried she is so far up top. Needs to sit deeper so Holiday doesn't have to defend so much.

3' Another great through ball by Holiday for Rodriguez. But Loyden would get to the ball in time to kick it out.

8' nice build up started by Hagen, then to Holiday, then to Tymrak with a decent chance on goal.

13' Gorry makes a run and takes a long over the top pass from Robinson and gets a great shot off forcing a parry from Loyden. Good chance at goal. Still don't like her attacking up the pitch.

25' Wow Tymrak would hit the cross bar and the ball would go straight down and somehow not cross the line. Great pass by Holiday.

Oh in that same play, Rodriguez would try to be an option for the pass, but she would run away from Tymrak. She has to figure that she has to angle herself towards the player with the ball.

33' Rodriguez would score from a nice feed from Holiday. Holiday did all the work and really Rodriguez almost did not convert. Struck a very poor shot even though she was wide open. Hit the post and could of easily stayed out instead of deflecting in.

36' Hagen almost chipped Loyden who was way out of her line. Ball gets deflected by a defender to prevent the goal.

43' this is what annoys me about Rodriguez, She has the ball, looking for options, Tymrak makes a diagonal run towards her and instead Rodriguez turns around and runs back and sends a back pass back. She is in the attacking 3rd, with Tymrak as an option, send a through ball to her. She rarely ever uses through balls. Frustrating to watch that.

    Half time.

What I have noticed is I don't think FCKC is using 2 holding mids. Or at least Katrina Gorry isn't playing like one. She is very high and is constantly joining on the attack. And on defense, she does a lot of floating. She doesn't back mark, she doesn't man mark on defense leaving Buczkowski and Phillips to handle most of that. Robinson has been good on the wings as well. But is FCKC playing with 3 attacking mids? Looks like it.

52' O'Hara hits the post and deflects wide instead of going in. Close call.

59' Ugh, Rodriguez wide open in the box, off a save by Loyden. Just needed to take one touch settle the ball and she would of scored on the wide open net.

64' really bad turn over inside the Blues half by Gorry would give Skyblue and excellent counter and LePeilbet would block a shot from Hayes inside the box to force the ball out.

Seriously its Holiday that scored. Not Rodriguez!

But gorgeous through ball by Silva with superb vision, saw Holiday making a run and sent a through ball right into the box right by all the defenders for a 1v1 for Holiday who slotted the ball right by Loyden. Silva needs to start!!!

77' Marlborough subs in for Rodriguez and this commentator hasn't figured out that Holiday scored one of the goals yet.

84' Holiday with another great through ball for Marlborough. Skyblue has been allowing a lot of through balls to get through

85' the commentator finally corrects who scored the goal. Was really easy to see who scored on replay as well.

86' Gorry is trying to hard. She has to hold the ball up, give time for her team mates to make runs. Pick your head up and watch for them like Silva does.

    ........

87' Gorry with a horrible back pass into the box that Nadim would jump on and get a 1v1 and score. What was Gorry thinking? Wow
