The FC Dallas Sheep League will be starting up again next week! The first set of questions will be posted on Wednesday 10th, and answers will be due by midday Central Time on Friday 12th. Remember to send your answers to me by PM!

New to Sheep, or don't remember how it works? Well for a full run through of all the rules and last season's questions and answers, I'd recommend a quick read-through of Parrothead's thread here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=666900.

For the basics, here's a quick reminder. Each week there will be 10 questions, each of which does not necessarily have a right or wrong answer, and could be answered differently by different players. The object is not to get the "correct" answer, but to get the "best" or most chosen answer.

As an example, if the question was "Who will win the MLS Cup 2008?", you might be one of those crazy optimistic people who can't look past FC Dallas winning it all, despite past precedent. A lot of other people, let's say 10, might look at the table and realize that Columbus would be a pretty good bet. Those 10 people would each score 10 points for that question - one point for each person who answered that way including themselves. You, on the other hand, being the only crazy optimistic person in the game would only get 1 point for your FC Dallas answer, as no-one else answered that way. If one other person did, you'd both score 2 poins for the answer.

I'm new to running this, so I'm sure I'm missing a lot out. Hopefully it'll all be in the old thread, but if there are any questions, now is the time to ask!

Despite having more than 20 players last season, I'm not going to split into two tiers yet, as some of them have not been active posters recently. Everyone who plays has an equal chance of getting into the Champions League or Champions Cup to play against the best from the other teams' leagues. As a reminder, here's how last season finished:

I forgot to mention that the points for each question go to your total for the week and then league points are based off your position in that week's questions. Eh, it's easier to see that in action than for me to stumble over explaining it, so take a look at last season's thread. ;)

If that was all it took for relegation, you'd be the only one playing in the top tier ;)

Not that my opinion matters, but I think it would be better to have two divisions.

Top division of 18 and second division of bottom 10 + newbies.

I'm STILL embarassed by the crashout I performed over the last few weeks of season 1. I felt like Man City with all the promise, a killer start, and ending in disarray, a coach leaving the country, and (new) foreign ownership.

    Hope springs eternal, right?

Your coach walked out on you? Oh no, wait, he hasn't. Actually, no, he really has. I'm telling you he hasn't. Oh, ok, you got me, he has.

I will play, but my U.S. pop culture knowledge before I moved here puts me at a disadvantage. I should be in the second division and try to make a miracle ascension.

Call me the Bruno Guarda of the Sheep League. I should be in the top tier not because I'm good, but just because I have history with the manager of the game. :)

I hope Bruno's relationship with Buster is not the same as your relationship with Rex.

....but that would explain a lot about Bruno's minutes.

I understand the arguments for splitting into two tiers, but like MLS, I'm just not ready to break up the league structure just yet. Even though, unlike MLS, you don't have to worry about your $30M investment. Unless of course you want to pay me $30M to play. I won't mind if you do.

Next season will be a different story though, so those of you who finish 21st or below are in trouble...

I've got the spreadsheets and cup bracket thingies, so hopefully we'll be ready to go on Wednesday!

Campeonato Sheepeiro Season 2 - Season Opener

To give everyone a little longer to get back into the swing of things, I'm going to post the questions for this week today instead of tomorrow - this gives you an extra day or so to get answers in and hopefully that will mean we'll get as many people as possible playing.

Answers are due, by PM to me, by Midday Central Standard Time (or Daylight or whatever we're on right now) on Friday September 12th. Remember, the idea is not necessarily to pick the correct answer for you, but the answer that you think the majority of other players will pick. See the first post in this thread and last season's thread for more info...

On with the first week's questions - to quote Parrothead: "remember, if you're not sure what a question means, it won't do any good to ask me for clarification. because it doesn't matter what I meant by it. :)"

Given that I have to work tonight and won't get chance to tabulate results and stuff properly until tomorrow, the deadline for answers has been extended to midnight.

A couple of you didn't answer some questions - PMs have been sent.

20 people so far, any more want in? :)
