Pre-match: FC Dallas - San Jose Earthquakes (Saturday, 8/13) pregame thread

Thank goodness, there is no Wednesday game in-between! One week to work/rest. These guys look tired.

 

We're going to get our briskets barbecued in Texas over the next two weeks.

What was your prediction, again, for the game in Austin?

 

That's Mark's prediction before EVERY game, I think!

 

We win this one just because that would be hysterical.

 

Something in my gut tells me we’re gonna win this one but my brain says we’re gonna lose.

I’ll go with my brain this time. If we do win I’ll go with my gut in the LAFC game.

 

The rest of our schedule - with the exception of Sporks, Wankover, and cRapids are against teams in playoff position with strong incentives to beat a lame Quakes team. I can easily see us ending the season with 30 points or less.

 

Neither Seattle nor LA Galaxy is currently in playoff position, nor have they figured out yet how to defeat the 2022 Quakes. They may be motivated but are not fearsome.

 

I think we’ll beat Galaxy* but Seattle will be highly motivated to beat us and they should have a healthy Ruidiaz for that game.

*galaxy may have the benefit of their new DP from Barcelona so that’s a bit of a wild card.

 

Yes, that’s my prediction for every match, that way if we lose, I was right, and if we win I’m happy.

sometime I think if the Quakes ever get great and stay that way you’ll get bored and tune us out!

 

It's not out of the realm of impossibility for the Quakes to win the last 10 in a row and make the playoffs, maybe even in 5th or 6th position. But it would have to start with winning this one.

But, if we continue to suck, and we continue to not spend enough money … that could cause me to give up on this club. I’m way beyond tired of this shitty organization.

That said, Dallas is a better team than San Jose, but they have not always played up to their potential this year.

 

Solid bark game, smoke ring tells me needed to go longer. Though, to be fair, thats always a tough equailibrium to hit. That said, thats an A+ brisket by california standards. (we crap on them in the mexican food department, though)
