Well The decade has passed us (6 months ago if we go by the technical decade being that there wasn't a year 0) and I thought we should have an award for this topic. So this is how I think it should work. First everyone submits 3 nominees, try too see what has already been posted so you post an original nominee. I will then post a list of all nominees and you can PM me your top 10. I will then give 10 points to 1st place 9 to 2nd place and so on and so forth according to each list. At the end I will make a countdown video of the top 10 according to which goals got the most votes to announce to winners. I hope you like the idea and participate! Sorry I forgot and Will edit in the first post. If you can link to the corresponding youtube videos it would be great! Mainly for everyones enjoyment. Also It just doesn't have to be about the beauty of the goal, but the context as well. The Belletti goal for example. Last day of the season, Barça needs a win to get into Europe the following year, Rivaldo wins it practically singlehandedly with a hat trick, the third of which is one of the best goals you'll ever see. I'd like to see this as an ongoing thread with an expended list of Top 25, revisting it at the end of each season, or even every six months, and reviewing the fresh batches to see if any are worthy of bumping off past gems. He picks up the ball in front of his own area, dribbles, gets tackled hard by Lampard and loses possession. At that moment (91:46) he could've writhed on the ground but he's already up and off-camera to the left by the time we recuperate possession and move into attack. Less than 20 seconds later he's lurking at the top of the Chelsea box for that fateful Messi lateral pass. Lo ******** Crack.

His 2nd and 3rd goals came in the 2nd half when we were playing 10v11. Recall that this was also a vintage Oleguer performance in which he opened his contribution by fouling Guti in the box. RVN would score his 2nd from the PK spot to make it 1-2 for the mandriles. Then Ole got a 2nd yellow for a late tackle on the stroke of halftime to leave us down a man for the entire 2nd half. (A lot of teams would've started crying conspiracy at this point.) Messi equalized 3 times in this match. But watch this last one a brilliant run, beating 4 defenders with 3 touches, and a dagger-in-the-heart shot that Casillas has become so used to by now. It wasn't a victory, but it was 2 points Messi decided to take away from LPB.
Rivaldo (v Valencia) and Messi (v Getafe) stand out as the best two goals for me. Rivaldo scored a similar goal v Man U in '99 which was from a shorter distance, but always struck me as ridiculously composed as well as audacious. but to do it again, given the context of that match, and the degree of difficulty...it just blew my mind. an outrageous goal. as for Messi's goal, I think that was the first time I realised he wasn't merely a good or even great player, he was special I'll have to give some thought to my 3rd...
