"It gets better and better as it gets wetter and wetter..." but I can't decide if I prefer... "It gets sweeter and sweeter as it gets deeper and deeper..." On the "Songs of Faith and Devotion" tour, at the end of the set...when the screens went all red and Dave almost shouted... "DEATH IS EVERYWHERE!!!!!!..." Such a brilliant moment. Can't wait to pick up the 101 DVD. Lisa
ok one year too late for this thread but I here is my top ten list - 1) sea of sin 2) love thieves 3) here is the house 4) get the balance right 5) enjoy the silence 6) in your room 7) happiest girl 8) shake the disease 9) any second now (voices) 10) it doesn't matter 11) home 12) judas 13) i feel loved and I'll be bringing a New Order thread back in a few minutes. Ignore if you want.
Not sure how I missed this the first time around. In no particular order: Enjoy The Silence Everything Counts Dream On Barrel Of A Gun Personal Jesus (go to hell, Marilyn Manson) Just Can't Get Enough Only When I Lose Myself People Are People
Behind The Wheel Enjoy The Silence, Policy of Truth, Clean...basically the entire Violator album Walking in My Shoes A Question of Time (cheesy, but I dig it) Everything Counts
i can't plave why i like in your room so much, but i just do. others question of lust clean only when i lose myself stripped there is really a ton.
have you heard the guitar remix of 'in your room' ? it's the single version, basically it's an alternative rock version of the song. I'm not sure which versio I like better because they are both great. have you seen the Depeche Mode videos DVD? It's great. I now realise that I listed my top ten but actually put 13 songs on the list. So why not add a few more 14) shout 15) shouldn't have done that 16) the sun and the rainfall 17) but not tonight 18) blue dress 19) goodnight lovers 20) useless I thought both martin gore and dave gahajns solo albums were pleasant, if not groundbreaking. Gahan had catchy songs but the lyrics were borderline terrible. Gore tried to cover obscure songs but alot of them didn't work in my opinion. I hope when DM releases a new album that they stop trying to be 'mature' and 'deep'. For instance Exciter had some really good songs but you had to sit thru alot of garbage, stuff that was more sophisticated than their earlier stuff but wasn't as catchy. Songs #2 and #3 for example. I am You, Goodnight Lovers, I feel Loved, Dream On, Freelove, When the Body Speaks....those were good songs.
Yeah, I think I like the guitar remix version better. The first time I really realized how much I liked that song was on the songs of faith and devotion live disc. I knew I had a dvd player for a reason. I'll check that out. someone else altready mentioned this, but the kruder and dorfmeister remix of this is excellent. it makes you wonder why the hell k&d don't just stay working together instead of that peace orchestra and tosca crap. actually most of that home/uselss single with the remixes is excellent. The terrible lyrics from Gahan were to be expected. That was a "behind the music" themed cd from the start. But, his voice and delivery can cary many a bad song. I expected to like Gore's cd more than I did to be honest. Couldn't agree more.
I did this thread ages ago . http://www.martingore.net/bienvenue/audio/live.htm check out this link... Live DM songs.. some great acoustic tracks from the violator tour.
with the bandaid cover or the other one? maybe i'm off, but after getting k&d's dj kicks stuff i just couldn't stomach the peace orchestra or tosca stuff. what's stranger is the 1st peace orchestra cd wqas an overhead/instore play at barnes and noble a few years back. maybe thats what left a bad taste in my mouth.
Yea, the bandaid one...I also bought the remix disc. Didn't like it as much, but there were a few stellar tracks on it.
