I really like AS Nancy-Lorraine's, and Rennes': I think LOSC's logo could be so much better.sl7vk, I agree with you about Troyes being the worst. It seems as if they didn't put any effort into designing their logo.
I hate all the clubs that have changed their "écusson" (that is the name we use to say about football club "logos") into new and desing logo, like l'estac, le Muc72 or le Losc for exemple. logos are for brands, not for football clubs. period. it is not a symbol you can market like the any brand logo. I do not know if the American people can feel the difference between "logo" and "écusson" like whe can feel it in Europe. where is the history behind those new logos, where is the respect for the club and the people who founded it ? like all OM, I have been pissed off when they changed the logo 2 years ago, but, well, OM has an history af changing the logo and I have to say the new logo is classy. you can see that nowadays, the new trend is to back to the original logos or "old school écusson" like OL, FCNA or ASNL did. "logos" that are fine for me : AJA, Girondins de Bordeaux, RC Lens, OL, OM, ASM, FCNA, OGCN, PSG, Rennes, ASSE, Sochaux, Téfécé. "logos" that are so so : ASNL, Lorient "logos" that suck : MUC72, LOSC, Sedan, Estac, Valenciennes I particularly like Bordeaux and Sochaux (with the lion from Peugeot which reminds us the linked history with the famous "marque au lion").
^ i agree, and you'll find the same sentiment in US sports like baseball that have a long tradition (and more specifically teams with tradition). to answer the question, PSG
I don't know how most Americans feel about team logos, but I don't like when teams change their logo (unless the current one looks really bad).I agree with you that teams should respect the club and it's founders. Also in America many sports teams have not been around as long as European teams to develop traditions. For example, over the years several teams in the U.S. have changed their team name and moved to a different town/city.I think more emphasis is placed on financial success in the U.S., instead of remaining loyal to the fans. Yeah, Olympique de Marseille has changed their logo nine times so far.The current logo does not look that much different from the original: 1899-1935 logo Current logo This is the old Lille OSC logo you mean, right?
no, i'm talking about an older logo, when the club was not yet named with "Lille-Métropole" after LOSC. I was not able to find a pic of it on the internet. and by the way, I think the only logos that have never changed are ASM, AJA and RCL.
Lorient's cool, it links the club with its nickname (Merlus) and it almost never changed except the writings. Best is Monaco I'd say.
