So, it seems that I will need to have a list of players to select at this time. How many players will I need to draft? What is the order of drafting? Can I draft all Running Backs or are there rules about that? I assume but have to ask, a player can only be drafted on one team? Won't everyone be trying o daft he same players? For example, if this were soccer, we would all want Messi and Ranaldo. Does it really just come down to who gets to draft first? Can you tell I am somewhat new to this?
Yes, only one team can draft a player. That means when I draft Tim Tebow first overall, no one else will be able to do so. You could try to trade me for him, but I will not accept anything less than Andrew Luck, Le'Veon Bell and Odell Beckham Jr. for Timmy Teebs. Just an FYI. There is a list of players on the draft client through Yahoo. The list is ranked by each player's projected 2015 stats. Easy, simple to use, you'll be fine kiddo. Recommend you try out a mock draft sometime this weekend if you get a spare half-hour. You can draft right from your phone or tablet if you have the Yahoo Fantasy Football app downloaded. There are also plenty of mock drafts conducted by "experts" all around the web that you can look at. Yahoo, ESPN, SI, WalterFootball.com, plenty of others, etc. Messi and Ronaldo would be terrible American Eggball players. Draft order will be randomized by Yahoo 1 hour before the start of the draft, provided that @tonyunion2010 actually signs up. Starting positions are as follows: 1 Quarterback 2 Running Backs 2 Wide Receivers 1 Tight End 1 FLEX (either a RB, WR or TE; your choice because this is AMERICA) 1 Kicker 1 D/ST There are also 4 or 5 bench slots for back-up players and 1 injured reserve slot just in case.
Autodraft. Not the worst thing in the world. You can pre-rank your players if you wish; you can find this somewhere on the Yahoo league website.
One question about the rules. Does Tim Tebow need to be playing for a team in order for you to be able to draft him?
Thanks for the suggestion. I did try the mock draft and it makes a lot more sense now. One question about the bench. Most of the other people in the mock draft seemed to pick a bench that mimicked their team - one QB, three WR, etc. I just picked the top players available. So, I ended up with one QB and the rest were all WRs. Any thoughts on this?
League is finalized, draft order is set. Make sure you log into the draft at least a few minutes before 8PM tomorrow evening. Also, I forgot to mention the first rule of fantasy football... make sure your team name is hilarious or unique. Despite what it may say, Michael's Cool Team and Craig's Bold Team are not actually a cool or bold team names. Andy's Pickle Lovers, Nick Sak's AMEX, Chaco's Right Foot and The Empty Buckets are cool team names. Get it? I think I have this right... 1st pick - OwlSaver (Michael's Cool Team) 2nd pick - celt1997 (The Empty Buckets) 3rd pick - drewuke (drewuke's team) 4th pick - Tyr (Chaco's Right Foot) 5th pick - ericlfd (Philadelphia Eagles) 6th pick - Handsome Pete (Prince & Co.) 7th pick - Dills (Andy's Pickle Lovers) 8th pick - lopezzzz (Craig's Bold Team) 9th pick - Amscray (Immortan JC) 10th pick - tonyunion2010 (Nick Sak's AMEX) See you tomorrow night, LOSERS!
So Dills can't make it online and Eric wants to watch Neymar without distraction... how does everyone feel about moving this until Wednesday night at 8:30pm? We may be able to have @drewuke nab two of Reddit's finest to join us as well. Yes, no, whatever? Talk to me.
I'll just try and set it up to auto-draft for me, which is appropriate because my season will be on auto-pilot anyway.
Ok, lets keep it as is. League is locked at 10 teams ready to draft this evening at 8pm. @OwlSaver, you are on the clock! As long as you set your line-up every week, I'm happy. No injured players or players on bye weeks.
