That's right, Spurs had glory when your club was still learning how to play the game.

Glory hole in the dressing room? Must be a remnant of your man Sol Campbell or perhaps the method Arse used to sign him! :D

So when are you getting your blue jersey Gooner? With the summer sales you can get it just in time to wear around town for the World Cup. :D

Because clearly the American Arsenal supporters were weaned on the horribly unsuccessful period of the 90s, and are therefore true fans. Why, dear God, they've had to suffer through the indignity of not winning the EPL twice in a row. Can you believe that? And they STILL stick with Arsenal. Honestly, such amazing dedication in the realm of sports must be unprecedented.

the best plastic fans are the web-cast/match tracker 'die hard' fans that have never seen their team play live. seem to be a lot of them on these boards.

they're are a lot of soccer fans who just aren't able to afford to fly across the ocean to watch some of their favorite teams. Its most of their dreams to be able to see their favorite teams live.

there are alot of good american fans, but unfortunately theres alot of crap ones that give the rest a bad name. However I would assume that you could still find gloryhunter/fairweather fans with in each major place like barcelona, manchester, chelsea as well as America.

Yeah, well I also like Fulham (underdog), Wigan, and Newcastle...

Dave, Dave....please, don't be bitter. :p I realize I'm new to the EPL...but I'm learning...and actually, are drawn to teams with a great tradition and that I like watching their style of play. (or have a fav player)

I'm not. Your free to support whomever you choose. The only rule is you stick with them through the rough AND the smooth :)

For the chelsea - man utd match I went to the casino to watch it on the big screen, I managed to get a seat near a couple of chelsea supporters and midway through the game the cameras went to a certain italian ex chelsea player who was watching the game, My jaw dropped when the guy with a crespo shirt turned to another guy with a 05/06 chelsea 'we are the champions' shirt and asked him who the guy on the screen was:eek: funnily enough the other guy had no idea either...

that is bloody scandles, how can you not know who gianfranco zola is? these are they people i dislike, you cant just start supporting a team because they win thats lame, it has to be a certain type of passion of the club. I started this thread because this was really anoyying. i also find it kind of stupid how alot of people in england think americans dont know anything about football because really there are some genuine fans in america and the ones i met when i was there the "posers" give them a bad name.

for the guys who said, he supports newcastle and wigan, he should be shot, even if he is a new to the "epl" and for Fcuk sake call it the premiership! there is a rule, you can only support 1 team from the premiership, if you support more than your a knob.

and finally its called football not "soccer"

First of all..if it was me...I said I like to watch both Newcastle and Wigan...b/c I am new to English football and learning...that's why I haven't declared my "major" yet...b/c a true diehard fan does have that one team they live and die for...

And it is called Soccer in other parts of the world, although I personally prefer football....or as they say elsewhere...futbol. ;)

why are you waiting to pick your team between newcastle and wigan? to see which one does better or somthing? its not that hard to pick a team, i began supports man united when i was 1991/92.....some people start because of a favorite player, mine was mark hughes back then, then when he left, it was Cantano.

    btw, are you a girl?

Either I am a girl or I have a very odd UN. ;) Yes, I am...and I have become addicted to football. I know...I actually hate fence riding, but b/c I take the league seriously...and fandom...i don't want to just come out and side w/one team...then switch. I am waiting and watching..

I actually thought Chelsea would be the team I would love...b/c I have spent time in that part of London, etc...and admired the teams past...

but I tend to pick up on teams that are fighting to win...(more middle or bottom) and that are exciting to watch...

Of course, it's easier if you live in the home city...you grow up w/your teams...like I have in Houston. (but we have the MLS in which the play is not as fast, etc...yet.) :)

So...for this season, been keeping an eye on favorite players...(Kewell, Bullard, Shearer, Keane and Rooney..) You can see why it's tough...they are spread out amongst competing teams.

So, I don't consider myself plastic, because I take this seriously and want to make sure that I really understand the history, team, city, etc....hoping to attend some matches in person soon.

You mean Cantona? How can he be your favourite player and you don't know how to spell his name?

Just curious....not ripping you a new one.
