i was just wondering what the juventus think about the great fabio cannavaro, i personally rate him still as the worlds best CB but how has his form been throughout the juve season coz ive only really seen him in the champions league and in a few serie a games. what is it in the juve people's opinion that makes him a great CB?

lucio is more of a libero type guy. going forward frequently and leaving [alot] of defensive jobs to his fellow defenders.
Fabio Cannavaro in the past season and a half has been the world's best CB! John Terry has been amazing also and Alessandro Nesta is the best in terms of overaal quality in my view BUT.... Cannavaro has been absolutely amazing the last season and a half (I.E. since he joined JUVE, turned a defence i was beginning to grow very afraid of into one of the finest in the world! I have always regarded him as one of the finest CBs in the world but he's elevated his game in the last couple years and is winning at club level now!!! Let's not forget... Captain of ITALY!!!
Agreed, We were also discussing about him and thought that a partnership of him and Puyol would be un beatable. Great defender and true world class by all means.
ive actually wanted puyol at Juventus for quite some time now. i think hes excellent and he would compliment Cannavaro with his ruthless style of defending. i doubt he wants to leave barca now that theyve got the next 5 la liga titles lined up like a christmas present.
italian defenders are overated, canavaro is no more effective then ledly king of england, just that canavaro plays for a bigger team and gets more exposure
it good you brought up liverppol, carragher has proven to be as good as canavaro , another case of underating and overating players
carragher has been just as good as canavaro for last 18 months, once again the overating of players like canavarro

Look if carragher was better than cannavaro then surely a GOOD team might actually have bid for him. and don't reply with any crap about how lpool would never give him away coz if carragher was any good clubs would bid alot of money for him.
Cannavaro is certainly one of the greatest defenders out there right now. Would make a top 5 list in my book, and with Thuram besides him, it's no surprise that Juve rarely concedes goals. Don't let this go to your head Juve fans, but you make some literally brilliant player acquisitions on frees. Cannavaro, and now Sagnol, very good moves. Carragher is a good defender. Perhaps overhyped, but then again any player who is decent in the PL seems to be. (Awaits PL fans to pile on in)
