The last few years, I have really enjoyed watching the early rounds of the FA Cup. Is there any word on whether these games will be on again this year?
Yes, they are showing FA Cup games. They showed one a few weeks back and this Friday at 2:30EST they are showing Scunthorpe United vs Wrexham and on Sunday at 1PMEST, they have Hinckley United vs the Bristol City/Brentford winner. I am sure they will be showing quite a few FA Cup matches this season. Check back to http://www.foxsportsworld.com for frequent updates.
I've been in FL since August due to the Hurricanes. I don't have FSW here. I am going home next weeked for a Christmas break. I am hoping to catch some games then. Thanks for the info.
FSI owns the FA Cup distribution rights starting this year. Setanta remains the pub distributor. PPV matches begin with the third round, when EPL sides enter the competition. Same timeslots as EPL, plus both semifinals and the final. FSW will also have a couple of matches per round.
[result]Brentford beat Bristol City on penalties on Thanksgiving.[/result]FSW showed it live. It was a pretty good game. The Hinckley manager was in studio for commentary. Thx, Jay!
Yes, it was quite an exciting game. Exciting ending too. It was cool that they talked to the Hinckley united coach. in the last round, they also showed Luton v Southend. I can´t wait until Friday though. Should be a good match.
I also enjoyed the Thurruck game (can't remember who beat them) in the last round. Gotta love the 1st round matches when the part-timers are every bit as good as the pros.
Looking at soccerTV.com, it seems like we should be getting quite a few FA Cup games from FSW this year... Speculation on FSW/PPV 3rd round games: Friday 2:30 PM - Burnley v Liverpool - FSW (not on soccertv schedule but why not) Saturday 7:30 AM - Sheffield United v Aston Villa - FSW Saturday 10:00 AM - Manchester United v Exeter City OR Chelsea v Scunthorpe United - FSW Saturday 12:30 PM - Plymouth Argyle v Everton - PPV Sunday 9:00 AM - Arsenal v Stoke City OR Yeading v Newcastle United - FSW (but I thought people sleep late on Sunday mornings?) Sunday 11:00 AM - no live game, so I'd guess whichever of the above isn't live - PPV
I guess things will keep changing up until early next week. FSW/PPV usually picks the games televised in the UK, plus one 10:00 game. The Saturday games should be set except that I could see the Man U game being delayed to PPV and Plymouth v. Everton shown on tape or not at all. As of right now, the only game on Sunday is delayed PPV coverage of Yeading v. Newcastle (AFAIK the only game to be televised in the UK on Sunday, live on the BBC). I suspect the Liverpool game on Friday will be shown if Sky picks it up.
According to FSW's Web site: Burnley-Liverpool will be shown live on Friday. Saturday will feature a 7:30 a.m. doubleheader, with Sheffield United-Aston Villa, and Manchester City-Oldham Athletic at 10 (Eastern). On Tuesday, FSW will air a delayed broadcast of Plymouth-Everton. On Wednesday, FSW will air Yeading-Newcastle. Also, the following weekend's league action will feature the live telecast of Liverpool-Manchester United.
