This will never happen, but I'd like to see Alonso in either a Spyker, Super Aguri, or Toro Rosso just to see what he can do with those cars.
Probably as well as he did when he was with Minardi. Which is to say not much (but probably more than their current drivers).
I thought Massa's contract with Ferrari had been extended already... http://www.crash.net/motorsport/f1/news/156161-0/todt_we_wanted_massa_speculation_to_stop.html I hope Fernando returns with Renault on a 3 year basis. Even if he's still free to live his own life where he wants and has no justification for that, there's one thing that still annoys me with Fernando - despite him being such a character on the track that you're somewhat dragged into rooting for him -, it's the way he handles the media for his interest. Whatever you do Fernando, don't wait too much. You' hampering Renault's work and preparation for the next season. They deserve more respect than that. But once again, what do we know ?
on Eurosportnews on the bottom it says an Indian driver has a 2 day trial with Red Bull in Barcelona starting next week

VILLA BMW 1m23.583s *Slick tyres made a long-anticipated return to Formula 1 as the final test of 2007 kicked off at Jerez on Tuesday – and Nick Heidfeld and Jenson Button took advantage of their superior grip to top the times by a comfortable margin. Heidfeld posted a best time of 1m19.042s in his BMW Sauber, shading Button’s Honda by just over 0.1s. The Briton had set the morning benchmark as he was the first to try out the evaluation slick tyres Bridgestone has supplied for this week’s test.
I expected Renault to get a little slap on the wrist... Not even ! Well, I guess Mc Laren may appeal that decision (or maybe just leave it there given their situation). Anyway, there going to be blood on the walls between Renault and Mc Laren... Who bets that Ron will be sacrificed by Mercedes as a result of that bad image conveyed ?
So ? Return of the lost son ? Renault analyses the reasons for a failed season. "Sorry guy ! We didn't have the time to take care of your cars, we're keeping on working in order to prepare 2008 !"
And as widely expected Kovalainen follows Alonso's footsteps once again. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7144078.stm Fernando should keep an eye on his GF ! Anyway, I'm happy for Heikki. He deserves a good drive. That said, that 2008 might be quite difficult for Mc Laren even if they have one advantage. The standard central electronic unit that all cars must use now has been developed by them ! Though, on many other front, they might struggle this year after the spygate scandal and the intense FIA scrutiny. Another thing also is that they lay at the end of the pit lane and it is said not to be the best place...Plus, they will be isolated from the other top teams. I guess it can have good points but they'll have a hard time getting strategic info from their counterparts. A strange season being outcast in the circus...A season in Minardi's shoes...
I'm liking the driver lineup and always enjoy new blood. Piquet, Bourdais, a full season of Vettel, Heikki at Mclaren and Glock at Toyota. The biggest thing IMO is Brawn hopefully digging Honda out of the trenches. We need more teams vying for wins.
There was a nice bit on Speed that I saw last night talking about how Brawn went to Benneton and after a few years, they were really quality. Then he went to the Horse, and after a few years, they were awesome. Now he is off to Honda. In all three cases, before Brawn had arrived, the teams were in a dip and had problems. After a few years, Brawn turned them into a power. I hope the same can be said of Honda.
This should go on a new F1 2008 thread but I'll let the F1 fans start that one, however here is a pic of the new Ferrari that was unveiled today.
