Frankowski re: Katai (google translated): QUESTION: The Fire crew looked very strong. Bastian Schweinsteiger, Nemanja Nikolic, Aleksandar Katai, Nicholas Gaitan - these names are known to fans around the world. Who among the four made the best impression on you? FRANKOWSKI: It's hard to say because they are really great players. Bastian is a class in itself. "Niko", with whom I shared the room during trips and training, is always smiling. I think that if I had to indicate one that I spied on, it was Katai. He is a footballer with huge possibilities, who could change the match with one good action. Particularly effective in one-on-one duels. If I had a fence like him on the wing, it would be great. His problem was, however, the unstable form. Good matches are interlaced with weak ones.
Katai definitely lacked consistency but that's why he was playing MLS and why he's on a TAM deal and not DP one now. He's a match winner and could still have that single moment of brilliance even on his worst day. We lost a good one.
Katai with Chicharito... just think how awesome that would be in soldier field. Oh.. nevermind we will get a chance to see that.
Awesome news for Gaitan. Getting back into the first division of a big club in a major European league is terrific. Not that many 30+ players manage to do it. Good use of the Fire, get out of China, play well in MLS and springboard back to Europe. Our stupid loss is their big gain. I wish him all the best. I hope he tears up the French Ligue 1.
Nikolic has a new job. He is back "home" at Fehérvár Football Club. Home, Sweet Home! Proud & happy to be back @MOLFehervarFC ❤️💙 #71 pic.twitter.com/WkB22eVgUm— Nikolic Nemanja (@niko_nemanja) February 6, 2020 https://www.molfehervarfc.hu/2020/0...oztaton-allt-az-ujsagirok-rendelkezesere.html
We can add Raheem Edwards to the Ex-Fire list. It seems a shame. He looked pretty steady, although not great, when he played for the Fire. It was also a big waste of money, since we spent a fair amount of money on him. https://www.chicagotribune.com/spor...0200211-z6jydaxwjjdtrhte3bc3sljnpi-story.html
I watched about 30 minutes of the game last night before he got subbed out. Yes, it was pretty bad. It took him some time here as well, no?
That was not all https://sport.blic.rs/fudbal/svetski-fudbal/tea-katai-rasizam-amerika/8rpj134 In one post: "- The police didn't beat you harder, you stinking cattle -" Loosely translated: - Disgusting cattle set fire to churches. Pink slip coming up. His career in MLS is over. Just idiocy on Ms. Katai's part. My favorite Fire player over the past few years, but f*ck this and f*ck him.
I didn't even know about him refusing to wear the pride name print. Why was a bigger story not made of it? I too am now happy he is no longer on the team
I have read that a few times, but only from a single poster. I do not know if it is true. I just watched the highlights from the June 22, 2019 Pride Night game against RSL. Katai started and scored on a free kick. I did not see any players wearing armbands, unless it was prior to the game. If it is, double f*ck him.
I dug up the highlights of the game. Dax was the captain and had the pride arm band. He played the full 90 https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1...eague-Soccer-2019-Chicago-Fire-Real-Salt-Lake Would have to be the warm up shirt but even that shirt doesn't really scream "pride" where it should be upsetting a homophobe

Okay, all is well with Katai. He posted to social media! No doubt about his sincerity here! All is forgiven. 100%! Of course, I doubt he actually wrote this. Not so fast, say the Galaxy I suspect that meeting will be: Katai: Uh, I posted that I did not like what she wrote. So all is good now, right? LAG: You're fired Katai: ...but LAG: Pack your shit and leave. No, just leave. We will ship your shit to you wherever you end up next. Katai: Can I only get fired 40%, since I only put in a 60% effort, anyway? LAG: Goodbye! [Yes, I have turned on my favorite player of the past two years, bigly] Edit, on twitter, the link for the LATime article about Katai has him in a Fire jersey! Top news latimes.com Galaxy denounce racist posts by wife of Aleksandar Katai One funny-ish post: Starting at extremely far right-wing for your @LAGalaxy ....ALEKSANDER KATAI!
I remember hearing about it around the time it happened. I don't know why I didn't say anything. Probably because I also didn't hear it from more than one person. But since then I've heard it from a couple.
Unfortunately his wife's posts are pretty tame compared to what some of the Polish people I know are posting on social media. The posts that are mixed with overt antisemitism always get the most likes, double the likes if George Soros is mentioned by name.
Great, peaceful rally in Batavia yesterday organized by a local 18 year old girl. It drew thousands. To see the differing posts between Batavia residents and Geneva residents was unbelievable. The protest was in Batavia, and even the owners of the businesses adjacent to the rally that boarded up were supportive to protesters. Geneva residents, miles away, were calling the 18 year old selfish because she organized a rally "just for own benefit" and demanded that she should pay for the plywood they stupidly bought to board up their businesses. Really proud of my town for once and my hatred for the town next door has been renewed.
