Just an overall poor performance for Werner today. He missed a chance at the end too, shooting right into the goalie, but Giroud was there to score on the rebound

I feel really bad for Timo during Spain game. He had to play bulk of his game on our own half to help Max, becoming the 2nd LB. Then he had to played full 90 mins with Chelsea afterward. He deserved some rest to recuperate his body and mind.
Werner's finishing has been a bit suspect in recent games, but his overall performances have been pretty good. Just needs to refind a bit more composure in front of goal.

Timo Werner is a great striker. By the time his Chelsea career is over, I want him to be a great attacker.Good link-up play & intelligent runs would do wonders for him & our team. His performance was so poor tonight & you can see that his strong mentality even took a hit. #CFC pic.twitter.com/w9QeBsVnw3— The Lions Share (@TheLionsShare_) December 15, 2020

This is not just his fault, things need to change tactically.[Source: understat, league stats only] pic.twitter.com/6hVZ0W6A1N— ExpectedChelsea (@ExpectedChelsea) December 16, 2020 Chelsea need Havertz and Werner to prove their worth https://t.co/1rhCtuuKqi— Mark Ogden (@MarkOgden_) December 15, 2020
Timo Werner: Chelsea forward admits Premier League is tougher than expected "It does matter how much you cost. It's always a bit of pressure when you come to a new club," Werner said. "But I think I can handle it very well. It's not something new. "The pressure is a little bit higher than the previous years but I think good footballers are the best under pressure and that's my plan, I can do very well under pressure. "The beginning was very good, but now after a lot of games I'm struggling a little," he added. "I think it's hard when you play every three days... and on Saturday against teams that can rest the whole week. "It makes it tough to be the best in every game but the Premier League is very fun to play in." https://www.skysports.com/football/...dmits-premier-league-is-tougher-than-expected
7 - Timo Werner has failed to score in each of his last seven starts for Chelsea in all competitions, his longest run of starts without a goal in club competition since September 2016, between spells at Stuttgart and RB Leipzig (9). Werner was terrible in Chelsea's game yesterday. His first touch was so consistently poor, I felt like I was watching someone now learning to play football.
A big advantage for Werner is he actually gets in to excellent goal scoring positions, once he gets his confidence back regarding his finishing the rest will be history.
Another awful game for Werner, subbed off at HT vs Arsenal 10 – Timo Werner has now failed to score in his last 10 games in all competitions, his longest drought since a run of 12 matches between March and September 2016 across spells at Stuttgart and RB Leipzig.
