For one it seems as though he basically threw his performance Wednesday against Wigan. Boro fans seem to say he's great when he tries, but disappointed at all the games he seemed disinterested.
That's the question running through my mind. After years of thoughtful, frugal business practices, all of a sudden £17 million pops out of nowhere? Where was all that cash in June and July? I doubt the management found another investor and just didn't tell anyone. Have Everton been sandbagging their fanbase all this time? Or did Billy Blue just take out another mortgage on his house?
SSN now saying Yak deal off as Boro want 12.5m where we only offered 10m. Maybe this is the same as negotiations first between West Ham and Newcastle for Dyer. Also, SSN reporting that we are changing our sights to Brazil international Vagner Love. And the plot thickens...
Everton have completed their fourth signing of the summer, drafting in experienced German goalkeeper Stefan Wessels. The 28-year-old keeper arrives at Goodison on a free after leaving FC Cologne. evertonfc.com woo
did we need another goalie? how many do we now have? i want manny damnit! and i want timmy c to be healed and i want us to steam roll the "big four" cos i hates them. hmph. i might also need a nap
Am I the only one who wakes up every morning here in the States hoping to see a picture of both Yakubu and Fernandes holding up their Everton shirts with Moyes in between?
Yes, it's quite annoying. Also, word is AJ is injured and will miss the Blackburn game. With Victor getting a knock in the Reading game, it would be really nice if Faddy wasn't our lone striker against Blackburn. Really irritating...
nope i think i had a dream like that once... but then i woke up and didn't find the picture anywhere i saw we signed someone, off to read that thread...
AJ is sidelined with water on the knee, apparently. I remember that from playing Operation in my youth. Haven't seen any news as to how long, if at all, he'll be out. I'm OK with the Wessels signing. He was a free transfer, and with Ruddy and Turner still not quite ready for prime time, it gives Everton a viable backup option. Moyes could even send one of the kids out on loan again.
http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/yak-fee-agreed.html OS "Breaking News" saying fee for Yakubu agreed with Boro.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/e/everton/6958847.stm Congrats. I've been impressed on how you've stepped up, and at the very least--it'll be interesting to see how Johnson and Yakubu partner up.
i was sitting here tapping my fingertips together in gleeful anticipation and trying to explain to my coworker why i'm happy... now I WANT MANNY damnit. he had a few problems in games last year, but he seemed to settle in and really start to "get" what our teams style is... I am very excited! these two had better not both fall through or i'ma be so pissed off. edited: evertonfc
Absolutely great news this morning (and it just helped a bit with my hangover!). Win win! Now c'mon Manny!
From football365: NOLAN FOR TOFFEES? All the talk has been of El-Hadji Diouf and Nicolas Anelka leaving Bolton, but there might be another Trotters' exit with Kevin Nolan being linked by The Sun with a move to Everton, who missed out on Manuel Fernandes so are desperate for another goalscoring midfielder. Bolton are said to be prepared to sell as Nolan does not fit easily into Sammy Lee's new 4-4-2 system but would suit David Moyes' preferred 4-5-1 formation. Middlesbrough are also said to be interested in Nolan.
