First half hat trick for @evanrotundo10 today. https://t.co/15IoCGN08i— Dom Rotundo (@domrotundo) September 18, 2020
Kind of crazy #'s popping with him. Damn exciting prospect if he has the size and athleticism, I get the sense that caveat seems to be the only concern with him (along with the reality that ages 15 or 16 through 20 are riven with trap doors and pitfalls that tend to eliminate 90-95% of prospect before they even reach professional status).
yeh. bs has taught me that these numbers are most always efemeral at this stage. if they're near the same level after greater muscle & bone development, we start paying real attention. (if he's currently doing this with smarts and skill against more physically equipped youths his age, it's a great portent.)
Agreed. It's always better to have a dominant stat line than not, but I don't think it means much at the U-17 level. We've seen so many guys who were amazingly productive at this level fizzle out. If he's doing the same thing with the U-19s in a year, I'll start to get more excited.
the only way you get a chance to prove you can do it against older kids and maybe even adults is to do it against kids your own age. rotundo ticking off that box abroad in a competitive environment is a start

Third goal was my favorite. The way he opens his hips up was very good. Finish this year in u17 and move to u19 in January. Kid looks interesting.
Not just U17, but preseason against the U19 side of a team in the 6th tier of german football (6th tier = amateur). Kid looks good, but I don't think this competition is any better yet than what he was facing in San Diego.
Yeah it is preseason. The U17 BL West opponents features Dortmund, Gladbach, Leverkusen, Koln, Düsseldorf, Bielefeld, Bochum, etc. If he tears that up, move him to the U19’s during the winter break.
is there any way to pressure schalke to move him to forward/start a gofund me for a TON of meat and vegetables for this kid?
I shall now institute a Rahbiefowlah drinking game policy wherein I take a shot of Jamo every time someone mentions Evan Rotundo is small.
i know other footballers with slight frames have found ways to override their physical limitations and play well beyond their physical size
Gianfranco Zola, Veratti, Garrincha, Maradona, ... Just like age, if you're good enough you're tall enough
