The Super Cup will be played tomorrow in Monaco, Real Madrid vs. Feyenoord Both teams have never won the trophy. Real Madrid analysis: while the midfield has improved since last year with Cambiasso, both raul and Morientes have had bad performances in the preseason. Anyway, Raul can score even in a bad day, and substitute Portillo could come in the 2nd period to score a pair. This and the chronical lack of defense (specially Hierro) are their main weaknesses. Feyenoord analysis: Van Hoojdoink is a strong forward, of the kind that creates problems to the likes of Hierro and Helguera. The team has now competition rythm, which Madrid lacks. Their defence doesn't seem good to me, and against guys like Zidane, Roberto Carlos and Raul, this is bad news. Comments? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/news/2002/08/29/super_cup/
Real are the easy money choice but I'd go out on a limb and favour Feyenoord to win this one. The team has played a few games together and getting back to match fitness.
