I only wish him the best. I would love to see him succeed. He's a fun (if frustrating) player to watch. Of course it helps that his father was on the 1998 Dutch World Cup squad, the first non-USA team I completely fell in love with.
I've said more than once in the World Famous WhatsApp Group Chat that this was the best match I've ever seen. It's at least the most memorable. And that, simply, is my favorite goal of all time. More than any Totti, De Rossi, McBride, Donovan, Cunny, Kei, or any of Gyassi Zardes's 60 knee goals for Columbus Crew. Just everything about that match. All the talent on that the field. The pageantry. The uniforms. The future Atlanta United Manager. I get weepy thinking of it. I still have the 98 Dutch World Cup jersey in a drawer. It's now likely 3 sizes too small. It has an ink stain on it from sending a pen through the wash with it. But I can't part with it. The summer of 98 was was my Junior Year Break from college. I watched World Cup matches with the same group of 4 friends all summer, all day. We played Massive Attack's Mezzanine on repeat and played Risk all night. I may have imbibed and tried to take Asia from Kamkatchka more than once. It happened that match we were in my parents basement. Our basement was sort of a game room. Ping Pong Table. Huge stereo setup etc. It also had a low drop ceiling. Maybe only 8 feet high. After Bergkamp's goal I screamed and jumped all around the room fist pumping. It wasn't until my dad came down after the game that I realized I punched holes in 2 or 3 of the drop ceiling tiles. I was required to spend the next morning replacing them. It was worth it.
Lucky the VAR reviewed another shitty decision from the ref. Since when is kicking the keeper in the chest not a foul?
Absolutely. I was hoping VAR would call down and turn that over. I haven't seen a kick that vicious since Walker, Texas Ranger. Let's hope Mendy's sternum is in one piece.
Oh boy, I'll say it is. It's amazing that any Chelsea player can walk after the week in week out muggings they receive.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/62787324 Ref's organization admit wrong decisions at Newcastle and Chelsea. How could that be?

GOOD MORNING AMERICA. THOMAS TUCHEL HAS BEEN FIRED 🙌 pic.twitter.com/h7nbw2ahYG— Men in Blazers (@MenInBlazers) September 7, 2022 I’m a bit surprised. I didn’t think the new American ownership would be as quick on the trigger as Roman was. Here is what Tuchel won in his short stint 👀 Thomas Tuchel was at Chelsea for just 20 months: 🏆 Champions League🏆 UEFA Super Cup🏆 Club World Cup🥇 UEFA Coach of the Year 2021🥈 FA Cup Finalist🥈 League Cup FinalistHarsh sacking? pic.twitter.com/WrGWCv3z3F— Football Tweet ⚽ (@Football__Tweet) September 7, 2022
He is notorious for burning out players and wearing out his welcome within 2-3 years, same thing happened in Dortmund.
Tedesco is out at Leipzig as well after a 4-1 beatdown at home in the CL to Shakthar Donetsk, a team that basically has only played friendlies for damn near a year.
You could see it in the way the players moped around the field yesterday. Rumors about Graham Potter as the replacement.
He sounds like the soccer version of Ken Hitchcock. They're not really in a bad position in the standings either.
