Klopp won’t be sacked, but Liverpool is down 3-0 to Napoli at halftime. In his seventh season at Mainz things crashed and burned, in fact he got Mainz relegated. This is his seventh full season at Liverpool… Finishes: 8th*, 4th, 4th, 2nd, 1st, 3rd, 2nd, 7th** *Coached 30 EPL games, joined after start of season **Current season (6 games) His current points per game is his lowest at Liverpool since his first season (1.60).
Like many EPL managers Klopp is a manager who benefits from obscene amounts of TV money granting him all the players he wishes for. But, he could never succeed in a league like Serie A. He lacks the tactical nuance to do so, and it's why he lacks the courage of a manager like Mourinho who has won European trophies at Inter and Roma to actually accept the challenge. Managers like Ranieri have moved to England and eclipsed the success they had in Serie A against lesser managerial talents. Managers like Conte and Sarri have had continental and European success that eluded them in Italy, where you have limits due to budgets. I have very much a love/hate relationship with Luciano Spalletti. His Roma was my most enjoyable Roma to watch, two times over. He also was unable to get us over the line. He started Gerson on the wing vs Juventus. He rebirthed Salah. He scapegoated Totti. He loves Roma with all his heart and soul. There is no manager in world football who makes me feel what Spalletti makes me feel. His football. His history. His personality. I could rail against him with equal conviction as I would profess my love. Tonight, it's all love. He's a phenomenal manager. He's the king. I would welcome him back to Roma for a third reign. But only after Mourinho wins a few more trophies.
I live with a nurse. I am lucky to get in a 2nd G&T without a lecture or printouts of the latest research on liver failure.
Graham Potter, current coach of Brighton, is to be named Chelsea's coach. Is this soccer's version of My Fair Lady?
They could sign a two time MLS Cup, Campeopnes Cup, and College Cup winner and some fans would still never be happy.
97 minutes of silence today from Roma to honor Queen Elizabeth's passing. The class of Mourinho and the players. Just remarkable. Love my club.
Good thing the Premier League started early to account for the in-season World Cup, otherwise they'd be playing into July.
He reminds me of the original Ronaldo. Bigger, faster, and stronger than just about everyone he matches up against with a lot of skill to boot.
Have watched him from day one at Dortmund and now City. The guy is a freak athlete and just scores goals. If he stays healthy he will break many records.
Truthfully, I'm more with Bayern....as much as I hate the Germans. I was mocking Roma playing like shit, suggesting that they were honoring a foreign monarch, instead of just playing terrible.
If you dont have enough police you dont have enough police. It did not even have an impact on Bayern. Germans like to stick their noses into things its best to just tell them to piss off.
