I've now received five emails confirming cancellation of my R16 Dublin games (in stages) but none about when I'll be able to try and get tickets to the rearranged Wembley fixture

Does anyone know if we'll get any kind of heads up, or will it be "first come first serve starts now!" "Ah you missed it"

Probably the latter going by previous lotteries, but think the emails all came out early afternoon so it's worth checking your emails regularly between say noon and 3pm UK time.

Quite surreal to think that a major football tournament will start in just over five weeks time and nobody knows, and probably won't for another couple of weeks, whether they are able to go to any games at all.

Agree and frustrating but I am assuming the delay is down to UEFA trying to negotiate to get as many people inside the stadium as possible.

Either that or deciding whether or not to allow travelling fans, or to restrict tickets to those applying through national associations so they can control it more.

They stated regarding Rome that it is up to the fans themselves to satisfy entry requirements.

England also announced a reduction in their allocation - https://www.thefa.com/news/2021/apr/22/important-uefa-euro-2020-ticket-update-20210422

My guess is they will try to honour as many existing tickets as possible rather than cancelling more and selling back through the national associations.

Sounds like no social distancing after June 21 here in the uk so why not a full capacity for the semis and final at Wembley

I think we need to realise that this is all small steps at a time and seeing how it goes not grand gestures of removing all restrictions and presuming all is back to normal.

For god's sake, the UK had 1 death in the whole country yesterday, are you you kiddin'? And you still cannot meet somebody from another househould for 7 weeks? Meanwhile 50% of all people had the first jab and most of the vulnerable had both?

Some of you have absolutely lost your mind. Aren't these small enough steps yet...?

Yeah, New York City for e.g. is removing almost all restrictions on 19 May. One notable exception is sporting events which will still be kept at a reduced capacity (33% I think). So gatherings like the ones we are talking about seems to be pretty much the last restriction of be lifted.

Perhaps justifiably so. Didn't that Atlanta x Valencia CL match last season kick-start the whole pandemic in Spain?

Of course not. Completly ludicrous to suggest that. Sadly so many have lost their minds. Outdoor events in vaccinated countries would be totally safe this summer at 100% capacity

What's ludicrous about the idea that 45 thousand football fans travelling to/through the epicenter of a pandemic, being in crowds throughout their entire trip and then travelling back home could contribute to a virus spread? Even a bunch of Valencia players tested positive right after the trip to Italy.

The reality is in situations like we are in at present you just have to accept and go with the guidelines. We are where we are.

Not sure where you get not being able to meet anyone else from another household for 7 weeks from. And yes I am not happy it is so slow. I think the playing of sport has more benefits than not I would would rather be playing again but the reason we have arrived at the figures we have is because of the caution and the small steps taken. Even if the whole country was vaccinated and it won't have been it woudl not stop the transmission totally and could well not have any effect any any new variant. e.g. the Indian one. What you and someone else don't seem to grasp is that this is not a static situation and the virus morphs as it goes along and we cannot just throw everything open and hope it does not effect us.

    How about safety first?

Not all about football fans, for god sake. We’ve got to live past the Euros and we need normality like everyone else.

Bearing in mind it is almost certain to be mobile tickets this time can someone who knows or experienced previous events say how it works if you are say four people. Do you all have to go in together, following the lead buyer? For some people coming from various parts they may not all be able to meet before the match.

From what was shared before, each ticket holder would have to have their mobile number put in. Tickets would be sent to each phone and users would have to have their bluetooth turned on to get into the stadium.

Not sure how that changes based on the restrictions in terms of a window to enter the stadium, etc.

Remember when you said it was all over as a public health matter last summer and everyone started going on foreign trips again? That went well...

Thank you for finding that again. Like everything new they sell it by saying how it will increase the experience but anyway...
Fans will benefit from an improved fan experience as they can easily transfer their tickets to their guests using the app’s transfer function, which will facilitate their entry into the stadium.
