The Juve players on the squad presented as capable and fully deserving of their selection to the Italian side. They played well and stuck to the plan. Having Donnaruma as well is an excess of riches but what the Hell, why not?
I THINK THIS IS HOW EVERYONE IN THE NON-ENGERLAND FAN WORLD THINKS: https://football-italia.net/altobel...re-the-greatest-look-at-their-trophy-cabinet/
Italy won!! WOOOTTTTTTTTTT Bonucci was what got the team won the final, if it weren't for his GOAL, guess what, there won't be any extra time to begin with, England would lift the trophy from that 2 min early goal. So THANK YOU Bonucci. I'm so proud of Italy. Win or lose, forever Italy.!
Euros are done. Chiellini and Bonucci still playing well, but on a short season, not a gruesome 40+ matches season (serie A, CL, coppa) I am so excited about Chiesa, such a good pickup by the team, this kid has the “IT” factor. He had a fantastic showing this tournament and this gives me confidence he is gonna be amazing for years to come. It’s a shame that Juve cheaped out on Donnarumma…but I understand why the club didn’t want to pay that kind of money on a keeper. Gigio had a great tournament and truly one of the best keepers in Italy. Shame to see him go to France. Berna actually did well, his penalties were decisive too. Happy he had a good tournament, still he needs to go. I feel horrible for Spinazzola, such talent, just injury plagued, just can’t stay healthy. Hope he returns next year and has a good career with his current club. I am very impressed with Mancini, the guy had the team play aggressive and it showed. After the first goal England played scared and did not provide backup to Kane or Sterling, they just couldn’t get anything going. It’s nuts that Italy had like 70%+ possession after the first half. If he steps down he will have bunch of clubs lined up ready to hire him. Maybe Barca/Real Madrid… The future now is who will be on defense in 4 years? Not many Italian players are as good as Chiellini and Bonucci. I believe this was their final international tournament.
World Cup is coming up in 1 year 4 months. I really hope see Chelini and Bonuci play the WC, if they want to retire from international football, do it after WC please.
Italy when their backs are against the wall always seem to come back stronger. In 1982 & 2006, the nation was faced with match fixing scandals and then won both the World Cup's. In 2018 they were eliminated from the final tournament, then the country was hit badly with Covid and now win the Euro Cup. Beating England at home is pretty awesome! Congrats to the Azzurri and Roberto Mancini on a job well done! Viva l'Italia! Italy WINS Euro 2020 on PENALTIES vs. England! | Highlights | ESPN FC - YouTube
https://www.juvelive.it/2021/07/12/bonucci-classifica-gol-ronaldo-juventus-europeo/ Juve is the club with most goals scored by it's players in a single edition of the Euro: 12. Bonucci's tap was decisive [Sunday].
Didn't age well - 12 goals by a plethora of players. 4 Juventinos on the winning team including what is absolutely a must, a Juventino lifting a major Italian trophy. A bit of a JUVE tinged tourney, loved it Sign me up for that bandwagon, long before the Euros - this kid on a free - pay him and get him to Turin. Unfortunately with our financial outlook and inability to move Szczesny was never going to happen and PSG will benefit.
After watching the Euros and then coming back to watch the Concacaf Gold Cup, its like watching a 3rd or 4th division....
Well yeah, Guadelupe, Martinique, El Salvador, etc. are basically that. Mexico, USA are clearly the tiers under best of the best and elite nations. Jamaica and Canada 1 or 2 tiers below them. Unfortunately, CONCACAF will basically always be 2-4 quality teams and the rest are filled with domestic players and players in low divisions abroad. CONCACAF would probably do well to merge with CONMEBOL.
CONCACAF merging with CONMEBOL? Not sure if they can compete. Maybe Mexico, the USA and Costa Rica could hang but they would have to play their hearts out. It would still be Brazil , Argentina , Chile and Uruguay once in a while. I think Mexico could make the finals of the CA in a good year. Either way neither the Copa America or the Gold Cup comes close to the Euros…
Lelle Oriali & Roberto Mancini How interesting that Oriali was a WC winner on July 11th, 1982, the same day as the Euro win 39 years later....
