Not sure what exactly some of you see in Berardi. He looks either lost half the time or completely gives the ball away. Scattered throughout that, is a moment of brilliance or two. Almost gave up the ball on the 2nd goal too. But whatever. I hope he scores a few now that I've said it.
Foot off the gas now and we’re inviting the Swiss into our half. We need to punish them on the counters
Huge goal. His confidence must be sky high now. This team looks extremely impressive against a Swiss team that are hardly minnows
Hard to complain about what we've seen so far. This tournament will start for Italy in the quarters when we will likely face the first tough side.
you know the rest of Europe right now are trying to say The Swiss we’re bad instead of praising the rolling train that is Italia.
I don't believe that. The coverage that I have seen so far of Italy has been very positive and respectful.
You and I are in the minority on this one. That said, he made a nice play to open things up on the first goal and we have moved very fluidly in attack, scoring a bunch of goals. He has earned his place thus far.
Mancini tinkered with a 3-5-2 which might be important later on the tournament. Although I think I would have preferred Italy to continue to assault the Swiss. Happy for our guys. I haven’t been this proud of Italy in such a long time
He has absolutely earned it and I wish him all the success in the world...as any one of our players. But he's clumsy and if you watch him in on the defensive end of the ball, he clutters around and is out of position often. Hell of a boot but from a technical standpoint, disappointing. I thought Insigne looked solid in comparison. Plays within himself and the system..looks comfortable. Our fullbacks have always been a position of strength throughout history and this tournament is no different. Both DiLorenzo and Spinazzola are immense. Jorginho is outstanding. Same with Barella. Happy for Locatelli...will be interesting to see if Mancini decides to use Verratti moving forward though....
I would start Verratti from minute #1 vs. The Welsh and see how is form is. But I would not deviate from the current midfield once we reach the KO rounds. It would be stupid to tinker with what’s working
I would rest Locatelli next game and give Verratti 45 minutes or so, but after that it’s hard to sit Locatelli. He looks like someone on the precipice of greatness. He’s leaving Sass for a bigger club as well. He just looks ready to take that next step, and the Euros are his launching pad.
spot on. I’m really happy for the guy. Taking advantage of an opportunity. He’s going to do his thing in the champions league next year somewhere.
