Can is an able replacement and the long time heir for Khedira. Our issue is playing without Gomez. Besides Mueller, this Euro the exception, team does not have enough scorers. Ozil, Kroos, Khedira and Kroos are usually good for at least 1 goal per tournament. Hoping Kroos' due goal comes against France.
Seems like good choices to me! Hopefully Müller replaces Gomez up top, not Götze! I'm hoping for: ------------------Neuer Kimmich-Boateng-Höwedes-Hector ----------------Can--Kroos Özil------------Draxler-------Schürrle ------------------Müller
if Low goes for the 5 defenders lineup that could be Gomez's replacement, a 5th defender which could mean Mustafi.
It's a bit strange but I trust this new team as much as the one from the Italy game. I don't feel nervous about it at all. We have incredible depth.
Absolutely...we are not living in a time when an aged Jeremis or subpar Borowski replaces Ballack/Muller...
It will be risky to deploy Can behind Kroos/Ozil...Can is bound to pick up a yellow card and the last thing we want is to concede free kick near our box as Payet/Griezman are excellent free kick takers...Kroos should play in front of back 5 like he has been playing...the extra defender formation like Italy game will help us disrupt French attack and disconnect Giroud/Payet/Griezman combination..Boatengs long will ball will terrorize the vulnerable French defense and we can use the physicallty of Muller...
We could play a strict defense counter attacking style.. Hope to grind out a 1-0 type game. I can't see that happening though, maybe 2-1?
I'm a little nervous about this match to be honest. The Iceland win should give the French a lot of confidence and with all the missing players from the Germany squad, I'm just not as comfortable with this SF as perhaps I should be. I'm sure I can shake this off closer to kick-off.
Of course, a SF against the home is always going to be tough. We can cope with Hummels absence, also with Khedira - we managed most of the Italy game without him. Biggest question is what Loew plans to do without Gomez, knowing there is no real #9. Seeing how we have been playing, Gomez is the last player we wanted to be without the rest of the Euros.
Those look good except for Götze at striker. Move Müller to striker and play someone else wide, and they both look good. Can or Weigl, both are fine.
This is so clearly our tournament to lose. Injuries or not. France and then Portugal/Wales in final 14 Brazil and Argentina 12 Italy would have been Spain 10 Spain would have been Netherlands 08 turkey and then Spain 06 Italy and would have been a real French team
Full counter mode ------------------Neuer ------Howedes--Boateng--Mustafi -Kimmich------------------------Hector ---------------Can-----Kroos --------------------Oezil ------------Mueller-----Sane
Its not about love...he can always be a GO TO guy, loads of experience technical skill set level headed ...has good energy and leadership on and off the pitch and in situations like this i can't find many countries in the world that have the luxury of having players like him game ready and able to change games ..sitting on their reservebank ...while the starters are suddenly crippled ( such as our situation) He still got it and can help our situation...at least how i see him!
