Holmes plays a very nice 1-2, followed by a diagonal dribbling run and pass to Thomas. Attack stalls out after an ineffective first touch by Thomas and ends with a gently rolled cross right to Horvath.
Free kick from just outside the box, curling toward the lower far corner, Horvath diving save. Always seemed to have a good look at it and dealt with a little bit of a tricky bounce, and knocked it wide. Second good save of the match.
Horvath another save. Pass goes to Ward wide just inside the box, tries to blast upper near corner, not close enough ot that corner and blocks it out for a corner. Ensuing corner, Horvath punches it away, might have been fouled while fighting his way to it. Down for a minute, might have been as much because of a desire to stall as anything.
Huddersfield have been dominating possession, but Spence just missed a sitter as the ball gets Cruyffed to him at the back post with the keeper flying across the goal. Really high xG chance to make it 3-1 blown.
Garner also misses a golden chance in the 88th minute. Would have solidified a MOTM performance. However, haven't mentioned Horvath in a while, because Forest have been playing much better for the last 10-15 minutes.
Electric environment and they get the win. Ethan rebounded from a shaky start to make 2-3 big stops. Think he may keep the shirt for now.
Full time and Forest are onto the quarterfinals. Wonder if that means Horvath will get to face Liverpool. He had a strong second half after a subpar first half.
gonna play the attacker's side by saying the bobbles on those sitters could excuse missing them, but any forward will tell you they've gotta bury them. GG to Forest though.
I didn't see anyone else post this. Horvath got the start yesterday in a 4-0 win. https://www.skysports.com/football/nottingham-forest-vs-reading/report/447779
16th minute. Gomez takes a hard shot from distance that thankfully is aimed directly at Horvath, who catches it. Twellman and Champion are doing commentary on this match for ESPN, so I'm curious whether they will speak about the US goalkeeping situation.
I'm gonna go with: not the most important match for his team (see, champion's league) but may very well be the most important for his own future club career (see English people who only think you're good if you play in England) also, may be quite good practice for what he's gonna face vs Mexico
None of his Champions League matches were too important because Brugge were already down and out in 2018 (although, to his credit, they put up 5 points with him in goal on 0 goals allowed), but he did start matches in the Round of 16 in the Europa League. So I think it's fair to consider those matches as significant as well.
52nd minute. Another Forest turnover in their own half leads to another Liverpool chance. Horvath has to make a small dive to his left to save a Jota shot, but it wasn't too tough. 53rd minute. Horvath makes another save on a deflected shot. This one is more on him, because he made a bit of a poor pass to midfield. Twellman and Champion address the inevitable question about who should start for the US next week. Twellman thinks that Berhalter will start Steffen over Horvath, but he's sympathetic to the idea of starting Horvath.
Liverpool 1-0. Horvath is beaten by Jota, who times a run well to catch an inswinging cross aimed at the top of the 6 yard box. Horvath spread himself well, but Jota's contact puts it past him at the near post.
They did a clever job of drawing the offside line well before the ball left the player's foot, so that the runner could be called onside
It was a really dangerous ball from Tsimikas. Horvath was a tough position on that one and there was no way he could collect.
