Did a little research... Giants play home at 1pm. Parking lots open at 7:30am. Parking is 15 dollars for cars, 20 for a bus. It may very well be a problem getting a bus in + out of there without pre-planning it with security. Not to mention the fact of getting around the problem of paying 15 bucks a car?!

I think we should think about maybe finding an alternate spot. Either that, or maybe find a way to work out a deal with Giants Stadium ahead of time. Or Anyone have any ideas about another spot?

Maybe MFO could help us out on this somehow - someway.

What about the rest stop/park and ride before the tolls on the turnpike???

That's not a bad idea. It's the Vince Lombardi rest stop just north of 16E & 16W. You can get to it from both spurs traveling north but I believe only from the eastern spur going south.

Yeah, the meadowlands folks confirmed that they would be charging all people $15 for parking, $ 20 for the bus to pick you guys up.

    We'll work on an alternate.

Hey, you should come with us. Children under 2 ride free on the ESC bus as long as they can fit in the overhead compartment.:D

Okay, the Jersey Pickup has been moved to One Harmon Plaza, home of Metro HQ. It is right on Route 3, about 1000 yards from Giants Stadium so it shouldn't really take anyone any extra time to get there and we can hop on and off the turnpike/route 3 with ease. It right next to the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Click here if you need a map.

    Directions:

Coming from West of the Stadium, going EAST on Rt. 3:

Take Route 3 east to the Meadowlands parkway exit. Left onto Meadowlands parkway and a Right at the first light. Look for One Harmon Plaza, and park in the lot.

Coming from East of the stadium, going West on Rt. 3:

Take Routh 3 west to the Meadowlands Parkway exit (theater on your right). Take Meadowlands Parkway over route 3, make a right at the second light. Look for One Harmon Plaza, and park in the lot.

If that sounds confusing, go mapquest the sucker.
If you are really confused, make a dry run. We are still leaving at 10:30am from New Jersey, so please be there at 10am.

    All-

    1. There are still seats on the bus. You can get on for $ 50 if you reply to this e-mail, or show up tomorrow at one of the pickup sites (NYC or NJ).

    2. The New Jersey pickup site was moved to One Harmon Plaza, just across from Giants stadium. Please read new directions below.

    3. The Metro front office is providing us with free beer and snacks, including some water and soda. Bring extra if you think you will need it, always a good idea for the ride home.

Playoff Bus Trip- Metro at New England Nov 9th

    Bus trip details:

    Sunday, November 9th
    METRO- REVOLUTION, 4PM

So you get one playoffs game, one bus ride and a hell of a good time all for the low price of $ 50 for ESC members. See fee details below.

    Trip Details:

The bus will leave from the 28th and 7th ave in Manhattan at 10 AM on Sunday, November 9th. It will then head into Jersey and arrive at 10:20 am at One Harmon Plaza, just off Rte 3 at the Meadowlands parkway exit. From there we will leave for New England, arriving around 3pm, about 1 hour prior to kick off for the Metro game. If all goes well we will arrive at NJ at 11pm, back at NYC at about 11:30pm.

It's BYOB food and beverages. The front of the bus is pretty much the family type section, the back is the working class youth with an axe to grind section, so keep that in mind. We don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. Also, let's try to keep all of the food/liquids flowing in the same direction this time. (btw, wear red, wear black, wear a jersey).

The New Jersey pickup site is now:

We are still leaving at 10:30am from New Jersey, so please be there at 10am.

    Payment Details:

You can pay cash in person tomorrow morning, just show up.

If you would rather pay online, you can go to paypal.com and send a payment to escgear@yahoo.com. If you do this, please also send an e-mail to this address, empiresc@verizon.net to let us know that you've sent a payment. We will need from you: your name, 2003 ESC membership card number, a phone number where we can reach you and desired pick up location, either New Jersey or Manhattan.

    Rates:

    $ 50 All tickets

If you are interested, please reply to this email.

Thank you for your support. Extra itinerary notes below.

    Bus Itinerary:

    Bus Arrive NYC 9:30 AM
    Depart NYC 10:00 AM
    Arrive New Jersey 10:20 AM
    Leave New Jersey 10:30 AM
    Drive to Foxboro
Arrive Foxboro 2:30-3:00 PM (traffic depending)

Once we are in Foxboro, everyone can get off the bus and stretch. We will pick up the match tickets and distribute them to you. From there, you are on your own. Go in as early/late as you'd like, though if you go in early we'd like to have a few folks stake a claim in the away end so that we can all hang together. The seats are general admission, so we can all pile in the "Metro End", Section 120.

    Game Itinerary:
    Revolution- Metro 4:00 PM
    Metro game ends 6:00 PM
    Bus leaves 6:30 PM

Please be respectful of your fellow fans and get on the bus as soon as possible. If you dawdle in the parking lot and we have to go looking for you, it will slow the trip down and it's not fair to anyone.

    Bus Itinerary:

    Leave Foxboro about 6:30 PM
Arrive New Jersey about 10:30 PM
Arrive New York City about 11:00 PM

    Notes on food:

Bring whatever you want to eat. We will likely not stop in either direction. Whatever you bring onto the bus, you take with you as garbage when you leave, as the NYC boys have to make sure the bus is clean before we get off it. Make sure you don't leave your mess for someone else to clean up. If you want to bring a cooler, make it a small one that will fit under your seat or over your head. If you bring an entire refridgerator with you, we will ask you to stow it so that we can get up and down the aisles. If you want to bring food to grill at the tailgate, fine, but we may not have time to grill. There will likely be Metro fans at the game that will let you borrow grill space if you ask politely.

It is a no smoking bus, generally speaking.

    Notes on the trip:

    1. Again, if you are paying on the day of the trip, Cash only.

    2. If you have any questions, send an e-mail to empiresc@verizon.net.

If not, see you on Saturday.

    Thank you.

What's this I hear about ESC calling me, a college kid, before 2:00 on a saturday morning?

    You're crazy.

seriously though, who ever called...you put a lot of work into this, obviously. Calling everyone to inform them about the NJ pickup site is above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you for the time and work you put into everything. If ya ever need any help, let me know.

Agreed, but it was 2pm on a Saturday afternoon and you were still sleeping...crazy kids. (okay, in college I did oversleep a 3pm class once).

Anyway, sorry about the intrusion but we didn't want to leave anyone behind. Worst thing for us would have been 10 guys standing at GS waiting for a bus that didn't come after paying $ 15 bucks to park there.

    See you all tomorrow.
