The prediction tools are as good as finished; meaning it should work but the code might need some cleaning up (but thats whats happens when not using UML :p)

The idea is that everyone puts there prediction in a standaard, as can seen below. The standaard is
the prediction tags and to have the result infront of the match. (the order doesnt mather).
And the clubs names must match 75% with the 'offcial' names, so it doest mather how you wirte the club name as long as it match 75% with the 'official' ones; thus writing "Heerenveen" instead of "sc Heerenveen" shouldnt be a problem.

    [prediction]
2-0 sc Heerenveen - FC Twente
2-0 RBC Roosendaal - FC Volendam
    3-1 PSV - AZ
    0-1 FC Utrecht - Vitesse
0-1 Roda JC - FC Groningen
    4-0 Ajax - Willem II
    0-2 FC Zwolle - Feyenoord
2-1 NEC - ADO Den Haag
1-1 RKC Waalwijk - NAC Breda
    [/prediction]

    Current Ranking:

So if everyone want to be so nice to post their prediction of the upcomming weekend. as soon as possible :) so that I can see if there are some bugs which then need to be solved :)

Thanks guys, I didnt even run into bugs... yet,so Im now going to make a chart for it :p
    [IMG]

btw when you post two predictions in one time span; the last one is counted and all before that ignored.

    [prediction]
2-0 sc Heerenveen - FC Twente
2-0 RBC Roosendaal - FC Volendam
    3-1 PSV - AZ
    0-1 FC Utrecht - Vitesse
0-1 Roda JC - FC Groningen
    4-0 Ajax - Willem II
    0-2 FC Zwolle - Feyenoord
2-1 NEC - ADO Den Haag
1-1 RKC Waalwijk - NAC Breda
    [/prediction]

Oh and ps you can type as much as you want in a 'prediction post', they dont need to be prediction only, because they are scanned for the tags.

Well I admite, charts arent my favorite thingies but Im pretty sure it isnt upside down (anymore :p)

It was upside down because drawing happens from top to bottom (thus meaning that the left top corner is always 0,0), and while I was making it I didnt felt like flipping it over yet... but it has now :)

You've probally cached a chart of a few hours ago (Ill try to make it avoid loading a cached img). But it should be normal when its removed out of your cache, just open the image in a new widow and refresh it: (thus this link)

    Result: PSV - AZ 1 - 1
    Result: Utrecht - Vitesse 2 - 0
    Result: Roda JC - Groningen 1 - 0
    Result: Ajax - Willem II 2 - 0
    Result: Zwolle - Feyenoord 1 - 1

So now I only, still, need to fancy it all up.

Very nice program Rutger, seems like we'll have a good turnout.

Are these predictions are set predictions? Or can I still change my mind?

if you are wondering if you can change a prediction you made, the answer is yes.

Because what it basicly does when 'you' press "calculated table" is that its finding out how many pages there are in a thread then its opening every page and checks it for prediction tags.

When they are found they are stored with the matching poster name and time.

If the time isnt within the current timespan the prediction is ignored but when it is in the current time span its saved in an array.

After all the pages have readed and the array has been filled with a bunch of predictions, its checked for mulitply predictions by the same poster. After which the last one is saved and all before that are dropped.

So meaning that you can change prediction as often as you like as long as its changed within the correct time span. So the 'time table' basicly is:
    [start date of time span]
this is where the predictions must be placed
    [/end date of time span]

    [matches beening played]
Some holland casino eredivisie action :)
    [/matches beening played]

[updating the match results of this weekend]

    [Calculating table and chart]

But now its time for fun.. uhmm I mean bed :p

Ps. Ill give you some basic instructions for how to use it, tommorow. But I have a veryvery long day tommorow so it will probally be around this time on wensday. But its really easy and quick to and simple :)

    Heres a manual for DSC05.
    [manual]
Manual for updating the "prediction league", very sort but it really isnt more.

Add this page to your favorits:
    http://www.onssneek.nl/bigsoccer

You'll only go to this page to updated to few information needed.

Now There are four steps to be made:
    Step one: Update Thread ID
    Step two: Update TIME span
    Step three: Update RESULTS
    Step four: calculated TABLE

    Step one:
    This is the hardest step.
When you press on this link it will open a new window. A window with a one textbox and a one button.

    Now the 'hard' bit:
In the textbox you enter the thread id of the thread in which the predictions are listed. You can find the thread ID of a bigsoccer thread by clicking on a thread, for example this one, and looking at the address/url, at the end of that url you see "...&threadid=73661" now those last 5 numbers are the thread ID, you need to type those in the textbox. Thus the thread if this thread is: 73661.

This step is there to let you open a new thread for every round instead of keeping it just in one for all rounds.

    Step two:
When you click on this link it will also open a new window in here you enter the start date and the end date of the time span.
The time span is in which the predictions should have been made.
This to prevent cheaters making their prediction after the matches have been played.

    Step Three:
Click on this will again open a new window. In here you enter the the results of this prediction round.

    Step Four:
This the easiest step, just click on it and the new table plus chart will be created. It can be closed when it lists the prediction which has been made.

    Making a start post
To show the table and the chart at the start post use these two links as if it where images.
    http://www.onssneek.nl/bigsoccer/table.php
    http://www.onssneek.nl/bigsoccer/chart.php
Thus place them between [ img ][/ img ] tags.

These are scripts pretending to be an image and they will update them self with the newest standings.

    Some extra information:

    Time table:
    [start date of time span]
this is where the predictions must be placed
    [/end date of time span]

    [matches beening played]
Some holland casino eredivisie action :)
    [/matches beening played]

[updating the match results of this weekend]

    [Calculating table and chart]

    Chart
I know it isnt goodlooking yet, but when I have some time the upcomming days Ill make it beter.
Same goes for the step windows/menus Ill will fancy them also up a bit. :)

    [/manual]

So toy around a bit :)
I have reset the table, so try it, dont be scared you cant mess it up and when you do, Ill just restore the back up :p

If you get it all, Ill pasword it and PM you the password for it.

Alright I think I understand it, except how do I erase all the scores and start everyone at 0?

Also, what is a going time period?

    Time table:
    [start date of time span]
this is where the predictions must be placed
    [/end date of time span]

Ah ofcourse, sorry im not to sharp today, which is a real exception because Im know as the "Worlds smartest human being" :p

It can change per round but mostly the first matches start at friday 19:00 (local time). so from Moday till Friday is 9 of out 10 times fine and when a match is allready beeing played on Thursday, just make the time span for that round till Thursday.
