I guess, but we also have to remember that this game was seriously opposed in terms of other teams that were playing. And those fans were always going to watch their team first in all likelihood, content with catching United highlights later or waiting for Match of the Day. En Espanol because it's so fun listening to Andres Cantor calling goals! No argument here, even if Pogba was a real shout for me: ran the show from midfield.
Nice angle: love this! This video.😍 @Cristiano pic.twitter.com/CaODu4rrfE— Manchester United (@ManUtd) September 11, 2021 Thanks to United for making this a good day (special shout outs to Ronaldo, Pogs and Varane who were just class): was much needed. Had me worried a bit in the first half but it always was going to get easier (and nicer) once we broke their resistance. Sancho is going to be key in that aspect in those types of games: we can clearly see what he brings to the table and as it's been mentioned, he needs time. This is a guy who will thrive once he understands his teammates and their tendencies. Said it a few times already, but how can one not be excited about the potential of our attack. We may be wanting in midfield and the lack of a top shelf holding guy but when Pogs gets into conductor mode, the guy is just another level and without question, one of the best mid (and player) in the game. And those games vs weaker oppo who bunker are really the ones we need to do well in. We'll hold our own, in all likelihood, in the big games (have a decent record I believe in those under Ole). We need to clean up against the rest and if we can, then I believe we can mount a genuine title challenge. We'll see but despite our shortcomings, I can't help but believing that this team can do something this season. We've got serious talent in this group and some legit mentality monsters: and that can carry us, in my estimation...
Boyhood club that he is okay milking for any extra money and play time whilst ensuring they dont get a fees.
^ You're confusing Lingard for the Glazers lol. They're the only ones really milking the club. But so long as the Glazers actually invest in United, then it's all good to me.
Martial and Rashford will be better players and score more goals if we play two upfront but we insisted on playing either upfront alone in the past.
The level of 'tek', awareness and quick thinkiing on this goal: the give and go from Donny, Pogs' vision, the dummy from Martial capped with the clean finish from Lingard: such a beautiful goal. I love it! 1436850110575648772 is not a valid tweet id
Atmosphere was absolutely rocking today, here’s proof 😂 #MUFC #RonaldoReturns pic.twitter.com/bOxLG9IIT7— GJ (@Gurps_UTD) September 11, 2021
Deep runs in all four comps are going to be important in order to get everybody especially the forwards the playing time they need
The buzz around United right now is simply awesome. Has the feel of the old, glory days. The only time I feel we came close to that in the post SAF years was the first season of Mourinho in charge, after we brought in Zlatan and Pogs over that summer. This team right now makes me want to believe.
100% long pass accuracy 100% aerial duels won 100% ground duels won 100% tackles won 91% pass accuracy Light work for Raphaël Varane. 🇫🇷 pic.twitter.com/s41rez1qK5— Statman Dave (@StatmanDave) September 11, 2021 A Maybach of a defender. Has proved to be precisely what was needed at the back so far.
The other benefit Nemanja brings is that he often breaks lines. He does it with Fernandes here but the latter was quickly closed down. This is something we should be doing more of throughout the season but often only comes with the Matic–Pogba pivot.Something to figure out. pic.twitter.com/jd7sgyEMQ8— UtdArena (@UtdArena) September 12, 2021 Had a look at the stats from this game - Matic played 13 progressive passes, 1 more than Pogba. These are pretty huge numbers from both, and shows how effective we were in breaking the lines to find the front line. The problem was what the front line then did with the ball. Their goal:1: Luke gambles on the ball going left and leaves off the direct route2: Maguire ends up diving in unnecessarilyIf Luke stays home and guards the direct route—a principle—and Maguire delays then this attack is solved much sooner.Principles! pic.twitter.com/GI7Z4hry76— UtdArena (@UtdArena) September 12, 2021 Defensively, it was pretty much always this problem. Shaw and Maguire here specifically, but it was the same with other breaks - we challenged for lost causes high up, and were exposed as a result. Changing DMs isn’t fixing that in this case, but it will almost certainly lead to those passing stats above completely nosediving.
Probably the most measured overall take on the game. Some posters post like they are newcomers to the game. Sure I would like a dynamic 6 but that doesn't mean matic was terrible. The pieces around him he can do a job with the right setup. We won the pl with oshezy playing significant minutes in midfield. Is matic at the top of the food chain? No but he can certainly fill a void. People should be judging the whole and not the individual part on this one. I think we look rough in spots and on another day we could have had a tighter score line. But I think we will work it out as the season goes on and players round into form and come back from injury. Beek was really good on the fourth goal. Simple movement but highly effective.
He's doing nothing of the sort. He's allowed to look after his own interests. He scored 9 in 16 on loan. There's an excellent premier league level talent there and nobody should know that better than Manchester United. That his contract has less than a year on it isn't the result of him running it down. It is a result of him and the club not seeing eye to eye. Every worker has a right to negotiate and if they don't like the offer, they can reject. If you think anything else, you can ******** off.
Embargoed section of Ole's post match press conference, where he provides an update on Cav and answers questions regarding Lingard and Donny.
So he does not care about his career or his club over money right? Thanks for proving what I said. And you can keep living in whatever reality you ********ed off to.
And how does my opinion makes me an idiot? He will keep getting chances because United are soft, he has never made an impact for us and he is on higher wages than anyone else would even consider. He rather sit on a bench to keep getting that weekly money and a fat check at the end of it rather than trying to be a player at the late stage of his career.
Which is it, he will keep getting chances or he will sit on the bench collecting his check? This is such a weird hill you're dying on. Jesse isn't a great, but he's been at the club his entire life and still contributes and has qualities that are valuable as a squaddie.
He will get chances on end games like Saturday because Solskjaer is a coward to not tell him he is not good enough. He does not make the bench if we had a better manager. He will get chances until the club tells Solskjaer to stop and they have no chance of redeeming anything valuable for him. What are his contributions that are so invaluable? So far, he has been on our payroll all through his career getting paid 30% more than the market if he came through a small club, nearly at the end of his career and rather keep collecting paycheck than prove himself as a footballer.
