We need to be more like France, Germany and Spain.

I was expecting you to defend the team and the manager Prenn.

Agreed but at least we fluked three points. The way we played we were lucky to come away with anything, thank god we had Rio and Terry to get us out of jail.

Well you thought wrong. Now's the time to change things. Bring over a load of young Brazillians and naturalise them, it's the only way to play beautiful futbol.

Exactly, we should have been winning 3-0, and embarrassing them. They are a team with shite players, and we are not.

I don't even know why I bother watching England sometimes, it's just the same old shite over and over.

A result on the road is a result even if a bit ugly. Too much lumpimg the ball forward.

    My ratings:

Robingson 6 not much to do did what he had to a bit shaky on a couple of balls

Neville 1  why does he play? lumped the ball aimlessly most of the day out of position almost leading to a goal

    Ferdinand 7 solid focused match

Terry 8 man of the match had 3 good stops in 1st half and a couple in the 2nd

Cole 5 not his best on either end, effective if lucky and ugly save on the line

Hargreaves 6 some good ball winning, some not so good distribution and spent too much of the match thinking he was a striker

Lamp 6 - responsable for the goal, just avg performence but was kept out of the match by balls flying over his head and covering for Hargreaves thinking he was a striker

Gerrard 6/7 good tracking back, attacking held back by the lumping style of play

Downing 3/4 just not good enough, like his club play usually but not against the best teams and just not international class

Crouch 5 - scored another goal, but missed a couple he should have and was manhandled a bit in the box, though got some bad call as well, still think he has become over-hyped and overrated but if he keeps scoring goals he should play

Defoe 2 just not good enough, worked hard tracking back but absolutly no impact on the match otherwise

Lennon 6 not on long but brings danger

Johnson not on long enough to rate or show anything

Carrick not on ling enough to rate or show anything

McClaren 5 got the result but tactics dull and uninspiring but better than sven at least

Rio (clues in the name) can do stepovers, but we just think he's a mong when he does.

    Indeed.

But after tonight's result I don't think we'll be ableto look them in the face tomorrow. What an embarrasement! They'd never be caught only beating Macedonia 1-0.

 11 goals in 13 games? You couldn't overhype or overrate him if you tried.

I tell you mate - it's been nothing but shite and all downhill since we let the women vote.

will the highlights be worth watching?

    Were there any highlights :D

    6 points...dum di dum....

    Good start.

Seasons just begun, we were missing good players...we'll get better.

Too late, we're going no-where. McClaren's been in charge long enough, it's time to bring in someone new.

    Some other close matches tonight...

Podolski scores 5 against San Marino in Germany's 13-0 win!

And Spain have just lost 3-2 to N Ireland thanks to a David Healy hat-trick!

Bring in god damn Shaun Wright and give him a go. I'm sure he'd do a lot better than the crap Downing was displaying out there tonight. Why Phil Neville, why? Honestly that selection is beyond me.
